Folder Sharing and Correct Password

I have installed Linux Mint 15 cinnamon on my laptop. My wife has Ubuntu 13.4 install on her own. OBJECTIVE: To view and edit each others files from each other laptops. I wanted to see my wife's files and vice-versa, so I selected a folder on my laptop and selected to share that folder - careful to ...

No can do. That might work with the desklet clock but it doesn't work with the clock associated with the login screen. The ability to right-click on the login screen isn't available to the user.

Lock Screen and Military Time

I'm using Linux Mint 15 (Olivia) cinnamon edition.

Having lock the screen, I've noticed the time actively working on the desktop. Is there a way to run it in AM/PM mode as opposed military time? If so, how do I change it?

Thanks!

Re: Saving theme for Linux Mint 15 Installation

So let me get this straight. I'm I to understand that by simply copying these folders into my new installation that when I reboot, my theme, as I had it installed in Linux Mint 14, will automatically reappear in Linux Mint 15 - identically the same? How does the new installation know my old defaults...

Saving theme for Linux Mint 15 Installation

I have really worked hard on getting my theme in Linux Mint 14 as I want it to be. In noting that, I would like to save this theme (icons, cursor, windows theme and etc) and re-install it when I install Linux Mint 15. How is this done? What files or folders do I need to backup for a smooth transition?

Following your set of instructions have resulted in failure. My wife's laptop still doesn't recognize my laptop on the home network - my shared folders or my printer. My firewall is not enabled. Please advise. . .

Re: Ethernet and Wireless Home Networking

I must confess, I'm a little confused. My wife's laptop doesn't recognize my laptop on the network. Too, I'm a little confused about localhost and Samba. Can you have a network with localhost only? It's probably something very small and something which I've overlooked. With all the documentation and...

Re: Release: Linux Mint 10 RC

To be honest, there are a lot of problems with Ubuntu's default kernel. You can read it all over ubuntuforums.org and the net. For me resume from suspend doesn't work with samsung-tools (which I need on my netbook), so I have to use an older maverick kernel (2.6.34*). Others have problems with wifi...

Running Linux Mint 10 RC1 on a Acer Aspire laptop. I have had some problems. After using Linux Mint 10 since it's release, I lost my wired connection this morning; I'm not sure why. I have no sound with the current Linux kernel - no sound card is found. Should I use the earlier kernel, the speakers...

Re: Release: Linux Mint 10 RC

I did a clean install on a Asus Aspire 7741Z-5731 laptop. I couldn't get past the screen where one would put the password. I would type my password and the first three characters would appear and then nothing . . . no more characters appeared in the password area. From there, the window just froze....

GDM Theme Recovery

I'm using Linux Mint 8. I used a wrong program to modify the GDM theme and now it's not working correctly. Is there an easy way to restore it (the GDM theme) using the installation disk? If so, how?
