it deffinitely works here tho... I get dozens of notifications from mint forums daily ... never a problem with it, so it's most likely a problem on your end... maybe it's something real simple - i.e. you've entered your email wrong or somthing :?

@Nik: You will buy a NAS with built-in RAID capabilities, right? sounds like an ideal solution.... more likely however I'll set up a tower with a raid 1 and put half a dozen HDDs inside... and regarding the costs... yeah... all true what scorp said... I plan to get this together in a year or two......

I'm building a nice home networking in my new house and having everything available would be totally neat :)

Especially for the LinuxMCE solution that's gonna be sitting beneath my 117" fullHD LCD TV

can't help you atm since I'm just going out of the house... but DO try the IRC channels ... you'll find most of the crowd hanging out there... either mint or ubuntu channel ought to help you just fine...

just open up xchat or konversation and you'll beam into the mint channel immediatelly

NTFS permissions

Hi, am I correct in assuming that there is no mintDisk in KDE CE? I did have 2 of my internal HDDs automatically mount after install but they were read only... I've tried to give them writable permissions through the GUI (system settings/system administration/disks and filesystems) but it was no goo...
