Re: Wanted: Linux success stories

I guess I can tell you about my friend's success story: About 2 years ago when I just discovered the world of Linux Mint, my friend's laptop was very tired of Windows 7. And because my friend was an adventure guy he also tried Linux Mint (back then Nadya). Together with him we discovered trivial thi...

Minor version upgrades ideas

When you upgrade for example from 17.0 -> 17.1 -> etc., I noticed that improvements can be made in a few areas: 1. Instead of clicking on the links for release notes and version information to proceed the install there can be made one simple checkbox "I accept". 2. Also at the end of the upgrade pro...

Re: Other Linux distros

So that /dev/urandom will not be unhappy, please do NOT confuse Linux with *BSD So there is *BSD? I though it was Linux distro! Joking of course but /dev/urandom will quote me on that I'm sure. :P Now to the point: 1. Debian Testing/Stable - I'm currently on Stable. Boring but rock solid. Tes...

Debian branches trip

A short story about how and why I switched from Debian Testing (Jessie) to Debian Stable (Wheezy). Usually I always prefer up to date software and that's why I was using Debian Testing - Jessie. But Debian Jessie is in freeze already for a months (say good bye to latest software) and something calle...

Re: Flash Player is on painkillers

flash 11.x is not affected meaning that if you are in Linux and using firefox you are "safe" (from this exploit at least) Revisions February 2, 2015 - removed Flash Player version 11.x from the list of affected versions. Version 11.x and earlier do not support the functionality affected by CVE-2015...
