Re: Like a fool

This is what I got.
mint@mint ~ $ sudo chown 1000:1000 /mnt/home/billy
chown: cannot access ‘/mnt/home/billy’: No such file or directory
mint@mint ~ $
But I think that's where it's at.

Re: Like a fool

Re: Like a fool

I thought it might be like Windows where you can rename different directories. It was showing the original and next to it Lost&Found. Like a fool (and thinking it was like a drive with windows) I opened the /original as root and renamed the original. Not a good thing to do. Make sense?

[SOLVED] Like a fool

I guess I did a no no. I renamed my root directory to something new and now all I get is it doesn't exist. I can't login. It goes into a loop and goes nowhere else. I hope that makes sense. Is there any way I can reset the root directory back as it was?
Thanks

Add mint 17 and Ubuntu-14.04 to windows 7

I tried installing Mint 17, but kept getting "Installer crashed", so I installed Ubuntu-14.04 to my Win 7. It is Ugly! Is there anyway I can also try to install Mint 17 with the Ubuntu? I've downloaded Mint 17 again and want to try again. Long story short. Have all three different OSs on one drive. ...

LM this way, or that way?

I'm trying to install LM 17 with win 8.1 (UEFI). It looks like there are, so many ways to install and they all say "This the way to install it not that way." I'd like to make one run of this and hope it works out. This site says to Not turn anything off until Mint is installed. Leave All On. While h...

Re: Cant connect to wifi

I messed around for two days with my same problem until I found this. I haven't been dropped sense. I did nothing, but the apt-get. A simple
sudo apt-get install wicd
will do it. You can read about it here.
