Cheapo SD Card File Size Help

HI, Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit (about to upgrade to 18) I bought a cheap 128gb SD Card off the internet, it was only a few quid so thought why not as even if it's rubbish it's only a few quid wasted. It's formatted in exFAT as it's for my Android phone. I formatted it through my Android phone an...

Re: Desktop can't see android phone

What version of Linux Mint are you running? Cinnamon? LDE? XFCE?

What version of Android is your phone running?

Since Marshmallow when connecting your phone via USB the default option is just charging, you need to change it to File Transfer so that the computer sees it.

Have you done this?

Re: Is there a tool, like Google Desktop, in Mint?

I use a program called Catfish File Search, it's in the Software Manager.

It has a nice UI and seems to work very quickly although I don't use it that often.

Re: Notification applet not showing new notifications

Disabling my network showed the notifications fine so it seems to be just 3rd party applications.

Disabling it and reconnecting it didn't seem to work either although I haven't restarted the computer.

Re: Notification applet not showing new notifications

Playing music located on my computer through Banshee doesn't show notifications either, can't see that being a network issue.

Notification applet not showing new notifications

I'm using Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit and this issue has only appeared since upgrading to 17.3. The notification applet doesn't show any notifications when it should. If an email comes it nothing appears, if I play music and change tracks nothing appears so it's not an issue with 1 application bu...

Re: Mint doesn't like me anymore :(

I have Empire Total War and play it through Steam and it works perfectly. I'm using Cinnamon though.

I don't have the best computer in the world, no idea how it compares to yours either:

Re: How to preview files?

OK, just created a new user, switched to that user, took a screenshot of my desktop, went to Nemo, clicked once on the file with my mouse then pressed the space bar and nothing happened.

So previews work for you?

If I setup a new user can I delete it later, don't want to mess up my system?

Move the dialog window back to the titlebar [SOLVED]

A new feature(?) in Rosa was to move the dialog windows to the centre of the screen but I preferred to have it on the titlebar, I've looked round the settings but can't see any options to change it, is it possible? From the Linux Mint feature page: Dialog windows are now attached to their parent win...

Need to change graphics driver but can't get into Mint

It's OK, I fixed it by following the below that I found on the internet. I logged in as root first, no idea if that is needed though. For 14.04 and upwards, jockey-text isn't installed or available in the repository. I have just recovered from an issue where the Noveau driver caused my computer to l...

Need to change graphics driver but can't get in [SOLVED]

So I've had a problem running a game natively via Steam, it was a graphics issue and I figured out that changing the drivers from the recommended drivers to the 304 drivers made the game work. That driver was a little bit choppy so I thought I'd try the other drivers, trying the 173 (I think) driver...
