Re: Graphics Drivers

Or, Click on the Menu Button, Type "Driver", click on the Driver Manager and select a driver from the list shown. I found the "Recommended" worked perfectly for me with the exception of the Boot Up Graphic. It will usually revert to an ugly text "Linux MInt" instead of the nice fading graphic. But i...

Re: Mint15 wants login and password on install

Are you sure this routine is not asking you to pick a login and password?

Re: Cinnamon Compositor Screen Tearing in Games - Disable?

To fix video tearing in Cinnamon, try this: 1) Open Terminal 2) Issue the following command: gksu gedit /etc/environment 3) Add to end of file: CLUTTER_PAINT=disable-clipped-redraws:disable-culling CLUTTER_VBLANK=True 4) Reboot and see if that fixes the problem This should be reposted as a seperate...

I have had this twice in the last 24 hours, and I use a stock wallpaper.
My Nemo is Nemo-dropbox version.

Re: Deja-Dup - Settings module

Now here is something really weird. It works as planned now on one PC, it seems possibly a recent upgrade has already fixed the problem, I can now see the preferences in Menu On another PC, nothing - in fact reinstalsl show neither module, but was able to create the launcher nonetheless Deep joy, th...

Re: Deja-Dup - Settings module

Since no one sems to have an answer, I have created a Bug report at the Deja-Dup site.

Not sure however if it is a Cinnamon 15 bug or not, but may raise one there just to be sure.

Re: Automatic Login being ignored

How bizarre, I have a second pc with Linux Mint Cinnamon 14 and it works perfectly as expected there. I did use MDM (Login Window) to select a GDM theme just after the first install, now I have completed my setup and apps etc. I want to be able to reboot remotely so auto login is important to me. Bu...

Re: Automatic Login being ignored

Auto Login is in the Systems Settings/User Accounts. And I should have said I am running a fresh install of Mint 15 Cinnamon. Sorry I was rushing to sort this and missed the crucial info.

Automatic Login being ignored

I have set my Account to automatically login. I can see a tick next to the name in the Accounts settings panel. But regardless I still arrive at MDM and get asked for a password. I have set and unset this several times without any change. Can anyone make any suggestions how to fix this. Thanks Dan

Deja-Dup - Settings module

Before upgrading to Mint 15 I did a /Home backup with Deja-Dup. The Fresh install has gone fine and apart from a few minor issues with a couple of applets I am very pleased. I installed Deja-Dup from the Software Manager to restore my files etc and hit a snag. Deja-Dup used to appear in the Menu in ...

Re: MintBackup of Programs appears broken

Additionally, I would recommend a weekly backup image. Google Clonezilla and Redo Backup. Most definitely, an imprtant part of staying safe. I have seen more than one upgrade fresh or inplace, go wrong to the point of not being able to start the system, and disks do fail eventually. But it is a rel...

Re: MintBackup of Programs appears broken

OOh!, I have just solved the problem myself, I can see what is happening now. The text file containing the list of packages to install is being saved but in "Root" - no matter what directory or drive I select - Ho Hum. Well we have a plan now! :D

MintBackup of Programs appears broken

I have only been a linux user for 12 months and only migrated from Ubuntu 13.04 to Mint 14 Cinnamon in the last 2 weeks. And I am loving it - just as much as I did when my Atari 1024ST was delivered all those years ago!!! I have two very succesful installs. One for work and one for home - a laptop w...
