Re: replace rhythmbox in sound preferences

cat4926,

I didn't make my question too clear, sorry. In the notification area, when you left click on the volume icon, a popup will show the current volume, with rhythmbox listed there.
when you click on this, rhythmbox starts. I would like to replace it with exaile. Is this possible?

replace rhythmbox in sound preferences

I would like to use exaile instead of rhythymbox. Is there a way to have exaile listed, instead of rhythmbox, when clicking on the sound icon in the notification area?

Re: Cancelled update, but marked as if updated...

Thanks...
Unfortunately I cleared my history in update manager, so I don't have a list there to compare, but it was much longer than what is shown in synaptic.

But thanks, maybe it will come through again?~

Cancelled update, but marked as if updated...

On Oct 7, I noticed some +20 updates available. I started the update, but saw it was going to last longer than the time I had available. I cancelled the update, not even 20 seconds into the update. When I restarted my computer, these updates were listed as completed (in history), although one was fo...

Re: Problem I've Been Having

ahhhh, Then you may not have your video optimized, or some of the screensavers are requiring more than your video setup can handle. I am not a hardware or video specialist. You may want to go to the Hardware Support section of the Forum and search (and then ask) for help with your hardware which is:...

Re: Problem I've Been Having

Garro,

Since we think there may be a conflict with compiz causing this flashing, you may not have to do anything to screensaver settings. Let's see what that configurations does, first.

Re: Problem I've Been Having

Garro, I might be persuaded to agree with Phd7, and wonder if you have compiz running? Even though Mint should run fine on this Pentium4, you have "only" 1 gig of ram memory and have a rather high resolution/large monitor (I am guessing 19 or 20") and an older Intel video chip family which might be ...

Re: Questions about LinuxMint installation in Windows Vista

whoops, was looking at your date you joined, not the date you made the post! I am planning to clean format my system, and install Windows Vista and LinuxMint Super! Use your Mint live cd to partition the hard drive into two parts, NTFS and your choice of Linux partition, ext4 is suggested (however, ...

kvv,

I am sorry that no one seems to have answered your plain question.

But first, I am wondering if this needs to be answered at all now, being a month late!

Send a reply if you still have questions...

Re: Linux mint 8 wont recognize blank cd

alexander1 Can you play audio/video cd's in your computer? If you can't it may be that your cd drive itself isn't being recognized...(and you are putting the cd/dvd's in label up, correct? just askin') I am not command line proficient so... goto main menu > system tools > system profiler & benchmark...

Re: AC Adapter crisis

all2473, um, so I'll keep this short... it is either the battery or the adapter. Can you run the laptop without the battery in it while connected to the adapter? If 'yes' then it is the battery. if 'no' then it is the adapter. I would highly doubt that this is a virus or a problem with Mint. God Ble...

Re: Problem I've Been Having

Garro, Welcome to Mint! One of the expectations of coming to a Linux forum is that you have done some homework... meaning you have sought out Google and a search through the Mint threads for people with similar problems. (I am stating this in case you haven't done this ... if you have, please ignore...
