Re: Cinnamon not loading

Thank you whiteEagle for your response. When I took a look at Synaptic, there are a bunch of stuff loaded. but, since I don't know which are needed, that is why I asked. I am running LM 16, Mate now, so I would assume that I am running the 1.6 Mate. I looked at the link you suggested, http://blog.li...

Cinnamon not loading

I installed Cinnamon from the "Software Manager" in MATE figuring I would try it. See if my old P4 machine with 2 gigs of Ram has enough oomph to run Cinnamon. And to see if I like it more than mate. You know, the greener grass syndrome. :D But, when I re-booted, I got an error that says '...

Re: Another "Copy" Question [CLOSED]

Duh. I guess I got oldtimer's for sure. All fixed now. Thanks a million. Oh, BTW. I went to copy's forum intending to ask them about the errors. Turns out to be a bug. At Ubuntu, if I read this correctly. Here's the link. https://copy.zendesk.com/entries/28050018-Potential-fix-for-Ubuntu-13-10-indic...

Re: Another "Copy" Question [CLOSED]

Thanks WharfRat. I like the symlink idea. That works for me. I will just mention to the Copy people about those errors. They will probably thank me for it. Will try the symlink. See if I can do it without getting my self in trouble.

Thanks,

Re: Another "Copy" Question

Thanks anyway, WharfRat. I did put in a request with the "Copy" people yesterday and got a reply about the ReadMe. The guy said he would talk to the software engineers about including their instructions in the ReadMe. So, cool. So, maybe I will mention those errors to them and see what the...

Re: Another "Copy" Question

That error is tough because the app is using its own version of lib files and system ones. You can see what I mean with ldd ./CopyAgent I agree. There is a whole lot there that I don't understand. Also, I am going hold off to try the --create-new thing until I understand a little better what I woul...

Another "Copy" Question [UPDATE][SOLVED]

OK, I got "Copy" installed and running with WharfRat's help. And, it runs well and does everything I want it to. But, in order to start it, I have dig down through the directories to type the command: ./CopyAgent The problem is I flunked typing a looong time ago. And it is very annoying to...

Re: Has anyone had success installing "Copy"?

Thanks WharfRat. I went back to their site too and dug around and got their instructions. This is what I got. [Installing "Copy" Follow these instructions to install Copy for Linux: 1. Download Copy for Linux from Copy.com/install 2. Open up Terminal 3. Navigate to your downloads folder by...

Re: Has anyone had success installing "Copy"?

Yeah, that is the download button. Poke it and the download starts. It is agnostic, so maybe the other installers are better. Did you see up on the top where the beta was mentioned? The site looked so nice, I wondered if something there might be a beta. I definitely would think their instructions wo...

Re: Has anyone had success installing "Copy"?

Yeah, I was afraid you were say that. Real nice looking site, but no help anywhere I could see. It was strange the tarball extracted just fine. There were three directories for different architure of computers. That made sense. If you have time take a look at the site. "copy.com" I saw som...

Re: Has anyone had success installing "Copy"?

I have something borked now. Can't even cd to the file. But I copied it from the GUI. Like I said, there isn't much there. [To use Copy in Linux, install this tarball wherever you like. There are three binaries available for use, described below. 1. CopyAgent installOverlay. 2. CopyConsole This is a...

Has anyone had success installing "Copy"? [SOLVED]

"Copy" is a storage in the cloud I wanted to use to keep my Calibre files synched offsite. I have the Copy tarball downloaded and extracted. That I could do. Their readme is useless though, to me. I found it alright, but it tells me that are three options for an install, whoopee, but no he...

Update Manager question

I got a notice from the update manager that I had some update files available. When I attempted to snag them, I got a 404 notice. Another Keyboard Question [that got It]

How do I get my keyboard to do the small script to do fractions and powers? Like 1/2 and 10^2 Not a big thing. I used to know with $MS, but I have forgotten. More oldtimers, I think. :)

Thanks,

Those files aren't huge. About 1.2 gig. I'll check Dropbox out. I like the synching feature.
