Re: KDE Plasma 5.8

Darn I just went back to 17.3 from 18 because the plasma was too buggy to be productive.

I still have 18 on another partition, I will have to give 5.8 a try.

Re: Icons are missing in Kmymoney

Yes I do have Mint 18. I tried it but got this error when I tried to add the repo. bob@bob-Inspiron-7720 ~ $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:claydoh/kmymoney2-kde [sudo] password for bob: 'This PPA does not support xenial' Cannot add PPA: ''This PPA does not support xenial''. bob@bob-Inspiron-7720 ~ $

Icons are missing in Kmymoney

Hi I am using Linux Mint Plasma 64 bit, and Kmymoney 4.6.6

For some reason most of the program icons show as blank.

Any one know how to fix this?

Thanks

Re: A suitable replacement for Lightning

Well I settled on keeping Tbird for mail, and Rainlendar actually works out fine, once I started to learn how it works.

Evolution had 2 reminders and was using 13% CPU for each one?

Reminderfox looks promising, but seems like it needs some overhead as well.

Rainlendar is the lightest.

Re: A suitable replacement for Lightning

I did not like rainlander.

But actually I accidentally installed the 32 bit version from the main page, and that caused it to wipe out 96 packages? I might give it another try?

OTOH I got Evolution to hold onto passwords, all I did was deselected add to keyring.

Re: A suitable replacement for Lightning

Well rainlander wanted to uninstall 96 packages, and it did, good thing I had a back up.

Evolution looks perfect, but it constantly asks for my passwords, so very annoying.

A suitable replacement for Lightning

Lightning has turned very buggy and freezes my PC for several minutes when it comes out of suspend. This is a known bug, Not much like this in Linux, what is a good app with calendar and alarms to replace it? And I prefer local, so Google is out.

Thanks Bob

Re: Filesystem checks on every boot

I think it might be up to the Ubuntu programmers to fix this, but who knows, maybe Mint can fix it and pass the code to Ubuntu just the same? :?:

Re: Filesystem checks on every boot

I am having the same problem as well with a fresh install LM 18, it is on the same partition as LM 17.3 and never had a problem with that install.

I tried this https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php ... st11469223 but it did not work for me.

Some kind of Ubuntu bug?

Dropbox integration in KDE desktop

I used openSUSE KDE for a couple of years, and the Dolphin file manager worked great with the Dropbox public folder, allowing me to make public links, it depended on KDE-Services, and there is no such thing in the debian world. So I made a .deb file with Alien, but that still was unable to create a ...

Glad to see the site back too. The nerve of those characters to hack this site, but they do know the only way to crack Linux is to build it into the original source. At least that makes me feel secure knowing there is no other way.

Re: AMD or Nvidia for Linux Mint

3rd for Nvidia.

My PC has Nvidia and gets the proprietary driver.

Wife's PC has AMD and get the Noveau driver, too many headaches with proprietary driver on that machine. I know, it used to be mine.
