Code: Select all

cat /etc/default/crda
This might not do anything
I'm in the United States.

I'll give both of your ideas a try. I think I might end up upgrading to Mint 17 though.

Re: Wifi cuts out when laptop isn't charging

Can you get me another from after unplugging charger and losing wireless? Another important question, why are you not using LM13 Maya or LM17 Qiana instead as these are the only LM versions with current support and updates I have Mint 14 set up just how I want it. I'm afraid to update, to be honest...

Re: Re: Wifi cuts out when laptop isn't charging

I would be looking at power management settings As far as I know, Linux Mint 14 doesn't have something like this. I haven't changed any settings regarding power consumption at all ever. Besides, it's not turning off the wifi--I just lose network access. I can still see the wifi networks and connect...

Wifi cuts out when laptop isn't charging

I'm on Linux Mint 14, kernel version 3.5.0-170-generic(x86_64). As of recently, I've noticed that unless my laptop is plugged into the charger, I can't use Wifi. I'll have a connection, and when I unplug my power cable, I'll maintain a connection for a few minutes, then I lose all access to my netwo...

I'm on Linux Mint 14, kernel version 3.5.0-170-generic(x86_64); I'm not sure if this is the same issue OP is having or not. As of recently, I've noticed that unless my laptop is plugged into the charger, I can't use Wifi. I'll have a connection, and when I unplug my power cable, I'll maintain a conn...

Re: Nemo Slow to Load Folders [Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon]

I have to admit, I'm still having a problem with this. A week ago I tried copying a 4 Gig folder from Fedora 18 to my Mint 14 Cinnamon and it would freeze. I would have to kill nemo to fix the freeze, but trying again would result in another freeze. Its very random and strange but other times I can...

Linux Mint 14, Cinnamon

xdg-open was just the quickest way for me to replicate the issue. If I open up an app that has a hyperlink in it, the end result is the same as xdg-open.

xdg-open URL opens default browser, not URL

I've been having difficulty with setting Chrome Beta as the default browser. I just got it set as the default--which is great! However, whenever I click a link outside of Chrome Beta (i.e. a "Get Help" section in an application (Android Studio is an example), or just generally any hyperlink outside ...

Here is the applications: http://pastebin.com/nWwNVpTT Here is the Mimeapps: http://pastebin.com/7w9CrJeN It looks normal to me. I have different lists. You can compare using command diff file.txt another_file.txt From looking at it, it really just seems like we share similar things--but where I ha...

Re: Can't set default browser

The way I use is simply associate a web page with my preferred browser (defaut open with), which should make it automatically the default browser without requiring any command line manipulations --in any desktop style of Linux.. Example: when I go to the settings for the time/date. There is a link ...

Can't set default browser

I've had an issue for a while now. For whatever reason, I can't seem to set Chrome as the default browser. I've already run the update-alternatives --config x-www-browser command. Chrome is always selected via that method. If I open "Chrome>Settings", it says Chrome is the default browser. However, ...

Re: Can't hibernate; slow to resume from sleep

I've never received any solid help on this. I posted over here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2159009, and ran a few logs. However, I never got an answer. Best the guy could do was to report it on Launchpad--which I did, and I still have no clue. College is starting back up and...

Can't hibernate; slow to resume from sleep

I have an HP Envy Spectre 14 and on Mint 14, it takes rather long (about 20 seconds to 30 seconds) to resume from suspend. I have 8GB of RAM and a SS drive--on Windows 7 it takes seconds. I can't seem to find the cause of the issue. I would like to point out though, before I go to sleep, I close my ...
