Re: BSD, Is It Good?

Maybe infiltration is the wrong word? No native speaker here. Well, backdoors. Yeah, but there are no backdoors in most GNU/Linux distributions, right? For example, I don't think that either Debian or Mint come with any backdoors. How could they hide it in a code which is open source? In my opinion...

Re: Screen brightnes dims one notch after boot.

starflower, you said that when you start your PC, it boots with 100% brightness. So you have to decrease it every time you turn the PC on. Not xbacklight itself, but with xbacklight you'll be able to make your system "remember" your settings. For example, if you like 50% brightness, your system will...

Re: How to install Kali linux

Hello, HexaGone...Umm, I hope you wanted to write "guys"...
Anyway, which tools do you want to install exactly? As you probably already know, Kali is a very specialized distro. If I were you, I'd consider installing Kali Linux itself, or dual booting with Kali.

Re: possible to have admin permissions while runing live usb

Hello, A13yss and welcome to the forum. I couldn't understand one thing from your post - do you want to replace windows with GNU/Linux, or do you want to keep them both? If you want to delete windows and have only GNU/Linux on the computer, then this message "hard drive doesnt have enough room for u...

Re: Future of Firefox Australis and LinuxMint

I have two DYI WordPress powered sites as well as a "wordpress.com" account and I have no problems logging into any of the three with Firefox 29. I respectfully suggest the problem you're seeing is not due to Firefox 29 but something else. Oh, thank you kmb42vt, you were right. Your post pointed me...

Hmm...Now I've noticed a problem with FF 29 - I can't login to Wordpress with it anymore. :(
Hopefully they fix it soon. I can't be the only one with this problem.

From Mint website: "The revenue generated by Linux Mint users when searching and clicking on sponsored links (using DuckDuckGO) is shared between DuckDuckGo and Linux Mint." So, when you're using DDG, not only you're protecting your privacy, but you're helping Mint as well. :) As Pierre said, Startp...
