Re: Serious Problem

dmanchipman, I have no idea if this will help or not, but it will do you no harm to have a look at it and give it a go. Sometime ago I had a hard drive that I had messed up, and it had a lot of data on it that I really did need to save. Go onto the web and look for a livecd image called "Hirens Boot...

Re: How to establish internet connection

maxxum my set up seems to be the same as yours. Last week I fitted a new hard drive and then installed WindowsXP Pro SP3. My router is supplied by Wanadoo (Orange) and is connected to my computer with an Ethernet cable (hard wired) NOT wireless. When Windows fired up I found that I could connect str...

Re: Help with aTunes! Can't figure out how to install it...

tmL

further to my last post.

I could not get it to run either, but I have it installed.

I started it in a terminal

cd /usr/local/aTunes
sh aTunes.sh

By then I had made a few alterations but I do not think that you will need to do any of them.

Re: Help with aTunes! Can't figure out how to install it...

tmL I have just downloaded the file and tried to install it. It installed without a problem. I think that the problem may be down to what version you downloaded. I downloaded aTunes_1.11.2_installer.jar this file downloaded onto my Desktop. Once it was downloaded I went to my home folder and created...

Re: YOUTUBE Videos going grey & stop working!

UKEZ,

I think that you are going to have to supply some information on your computer and what Linux Mint version you have installed.

I installed Elyssa one week ago and "youtube" videos play good straight out of the box.

Re: Can't Burn DVD

Hi all, what is all this "bump" business about. I understood that once you had posted your question it would remain available for everyone to see. Bumping seems to only serve to up your post counts. Can I just make some "bumps" so that I can get onto a higher level as soon as possible please.???? :D...

Re: Several bugs, where to report them...

witteveen,

with reference to your speaker beep sounds. Normally these are associated with errors and are outputted from your bios. If you go here there may be something that will help.

Re: Serpentine not there?

marty,

I have just had a quick look using Google and it says

Requirements:

· python-gst
· gnome-python-extras 2.10
· pygtk 2.6

you should have a look to see if you have them installed.

Re: Can anyone recommend a TV tuner card that will work?

nevart, I do not know if this information will help you at all. I have just installed Elyssa and I plugged in my Hauppauge WinTv Nova-t USB. Downloaded Kaffeine, and opened it. Instead of the normal 5 options there were 6. The sixth one is Digital TV, which I clicked. I then selected the area where ...

Re: Live CD won't start at all

marianne, it really sounds as if your bios is set to boot from the hard drive first, and because of that your computer will always start with your Linux installation. The only way forward is to go into your bios setup and have a look at your boot sequence. You must have the first boot option to be y...

Re: Live CD won't start at all

marianne,

I am a bit confused as you say that you have mint 5 installed, which would suggest that at some point in time the CD drive must have been recognized????

Re: Folding@Home

900i, it has always surprised me by the lack of interest concerning such a valuable initiative, not just here but in my previous two Linux flavours. Perhaps until you have lost someone to one of the major illnesses you are not too bothered about contributing. I personally prefer to dedicate my compu...

Re: Folding@Home

Hi all, I have just managed to get Linux Mint Elyssa 64 bit installed (11-01-2009) and it is up and running. First impressions are very good. I have been folding 24/7 for over a year now, and being as I have just installed mint, I have started folding for you. Now working on my third unit and should...

Re: Can not play ts. mediafiles

persen61,

I did not know what a .ts file was, but using Google and entering the search string .ts brings up a whole raft of hits. Just read through a few of them and I am sure that you will be able to play them successfully.

Re: Correcting out of sync video file

iironjade, The first thing that I do when I have captured a video from my Hauppauge Wintv Nova-t usb via Kaffeine is to put it through ProjectX. ProjectX is a java program so it is independent from any operating system. I have just this minute installed Elyssa 64 bit onto my computer and have just m...
