Re: Galaxy S4 10.5 tablet + Linux

Hi Michael I had already signed up to be a tester, and received an e-mail back giving me a link to the file I need to download. Unfortunately the link says "not available", so no help at all. I have just found a video showing the uses of the S Pen. I found the video here https://www.google.com/searc...

Re: Galaxy S4 10.5 tablet + Linux

Hi michael thank for taking the time. I cannot find the Linux on Dex app in the google app store. I have trawled up and down the available apps offered, but I do not see it. I have read elsewhere that the app is broken in the app store. I have found a post that says you can download it from APKMIRRO...

Galaxy S4 10.5 tablet + Linux

Hi all, I have just purchased a Galaxy S4 10.5 Tablet. I made the purchase as I am trying to learn to paint, and I put lots of images and videos on the tablet about painting, and then take it into my shed where I paint. I use the tablet as a reference. I could have purchased a far cheaper tablet whi...

Re: Folding at home with mint 19.1 and amd gpus

udaredme,

we have a folding team running on Mint. If you go to the search box and type in protein folding you should be able to find the whole thread which goes back over a fair period of time. Give it a read and see if it helps.

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

battlenut,

the temperature of the 1070 is currently sitting at 65 degrees, so not too bad.

I am liking the run of 0x22 work units even though they push up the temperature a bit.

Hope it cools down for you.

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi darktheme, I have been missing for a few day due to building a new computer. It has been a struggle to even get it to boot. I used to change the fan speed on the 1070 by using Control Center/Nvidia Settings/Thermal Settings, tick the box to "enable GPU Fan Speed. I used to run the fans at 85%, bu...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, I see that the team now has 16 members. To anyone who I have not said welcome to, then hello. I have had the last 5 days running Fahcore 0x22 work units. These units are the highest point scorers that I have ever had, and to have them for an unbroken 5 days is a rare occurrence indeed. They ...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, I see that we have new folders in the team, so welcome to them. We are slowly getting nearer to our target. A short while ago "bantano" dropped in and said that he was from an ex coin mining team. Does anyone know if coin mining is slowing down or even coming to a halt. The reason for the qu...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, I too thought that I would be down for a couple of days, but in the end it all went well. My wife has Raynaud's, which is a disease that makes her fingers and toes believe that they are being frozen by cold, and because of that our central heating is always on. Even in the winter it feels li...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi bantano, it is very good of you to take the time to drop by and say hello. I hope that you have some success with trying to convert some of the mining teams to put there efforts into Protein Folding. With this project I think that the old saying "the more the merrier" is well suited. Best regards...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all, we have just made it to position 102, BUT team BANANO.CC are making giant strides to overtake us by contributing over 266 million points a day more than our team. That will put us back in 103rd place in a couple of days. For the Protein Folding cause in general, it is to be applauded that th...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi All, I see that we have another high flying team about to eat us for breakfast. They are gaining 118 million points a day on us (makes the heart sink a bit) I suppose this is another ex mining crew who had left mining and looking for another thing to do with all of that power. Has currency mining...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

Hi all,

I have just noticed that my GPU was running with a lower temp. Looking a bit closer I can see that it has dropped out of running the high point scoring FahCore 0x22 and was now back on 0x21. I hope that it picks the 22 series again soon.

It was good while it lasted.

I have one of these, and from memory I installed HPLIP and then asked it to print a test page. It said that it needed a plugin and offered to download and install it. I said OK. It worked from that moment.
