Linux setup TP-LINK TD-8616

A Friend got a TP-Link TD-8616 modem and we can't figure out how to install it. The manual only covers Windows installation.

Re: Poll: Desktop environments

I'm old, but I was an old fogy when I was young - Mate is the tops for me. I can find things. As for unity -EWWWW I can react faster to a road sign that says Cattle Crossing faster than I can one with a picture of a cow.

Dual Boot setup

OK, now I have Mint 14.1 Cinnamon on sda1 and Mint 10 on sda6. Default boot is Cinnamon (first boot menu position). I want to put 14.1 Mate on sda 6 but default boot as Cinnamon. How do I do so?

Re: A wonderful thing has happened

OK, so you might try a minimal install of the OS (win7 ?), and then try your restore files.. --I assume a restore needs a formatted and installed OS to reapply (restore files/settings into..) By minimal install, all I mean is remove any settings/applications you are allowed to before installation -...

A wonderful thing has happened

But since it was different from the original the doggone restore disks I created when it was new wouldn't reinstall the win7....
