In case there's any doubt about what you're trying to do, I just now installed kiba-dock and gdesklets on my Bianca system, which is also running Beryl and nVidia drivers. For testing, I added a couple of applications to kiba dock (Firefox and kdetv), and tickled its panel background to be green, tr...

The beryl-manager applet automatically invokes Beryl on my system. I never invoke beryl per se. (Ditto for Compiz, which is automatically invoked by its compiz-tray-icon applet). From my past tinkerings, I found that blank (white) windows and loss of window decorations can result when Beryl (or Comp...

I don't have wireless technology to play with.

There looks to be plenty of wireless info at the Puppy Linux Forum.

Im very disappointed with this problem. No doubt. But this problem is with your Internet service: The ISO file was corrupted during download, and you've got a pain-in-the-arse slow connection. Always check the file MD5 before burning a disc. Otherwise you're just making shiny coasters for your coff...

Beryl 0.2.0 also seems glitch-free on Bianca with this version of nVidia driver.

Perhaps ReiserDriver, or ReiserFS for Windows, or Ext2fs+Reiser 1.3 (a plugin for the shareware Total Commander file manager), or UFS Explorer (commercial product) might be useful, though they offer read-only file system access from Windows.

Alternatively (or additionally), there's the freeware Ext2 Installable File System For Windows, which enables XP to access all your Linux ext2/ext3 file systems. With direct access, moving/copying data files mightn't be necessary (just use them in-situ with XP applications).
