kwin-style-dekorator not installable

Hi,
just trying out qiana 64 kde. Package kwin-style-dekorator will uninstall kde-window-manager and when I do that I have no windows decoration at all. But I want my old dekorator theme back, I put a lot of work into it. Any idea what to do?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Re: Please recommend a new nvidia card for me

Thanks for your advice!

However, I think I will wait some time before buying a new card. I got the on-board radeon on my wife's computer working with Mint 16 and openGL, so no need to buy a new card now.

[solved] Please recommend a new nvidia card for me

Hi, I mostly use my graphic card for retro gaming (nintendo game cube, PSX, PS2). Dolphin emu (gamecube) runs quite fine with my current settings, but some games are too slow to really play. At the moment, I use a GF119 [GeForce GT 610] with Mint 15 KDE 64 using nvidia-310.44-0ubuntu2 from the drive...

"Show printers shared by other systems" gone from cups

Hi, Network printing used to be easy, I could just enable "Show printers shared by other systems" in the cups browser interface and print on any linux system in the same network my laptop is connected to. Now, in Mint 15, this option is gone! Is there any way to get the old behavior back? I want my ...

Re: Multiarch, ia32-libs, Wine, Skype & others

Hi, my architecture shows i386 but libGL.so.1 is missing from /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa. Reinstalling libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 gets me the required file but breaks my system, compositing does not work anymore nor does openGL. I have a GeForce GT 610 and I have to use sgfxi for the latest drivers beca...

Re: multiarch problem: libGL.so.1 for 32 bit missing?

ls /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa shows me the files are not present, but the package libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 is installed. So I tried reinstalling it and …wow! This actually broke my system! I tried starting the game but the screen reverted to a lowres mode and a lot of errors like unupported modules wh...

multiarch problem: libGL.so.1 for 32 bit missing?

Hi, I want to play the latest Humble Bundle games (which are 32 bit) and only get the following error: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 So it seems I don't have the required library for 32 bit. I have already installed ia32-libs-multiarch. I have an nvidi...

Re: Mint 14 kde audacious playlist distorted

Alt-E doesn't open any playlist editor in my version. In GTK mode, it opens the "add cd" menu and in winamp mode it shows/hides the playlist.

Re: making Mint14 kde 64 bit multiarch problem

Okay, I'm a moron, sorry! That indeed was the problem. After I did the updates, I can install it and nothing has to be removed. It's installing in the background now and I really hope my system will still work when I reboot. I just wonder why apt couldn't tell me that some packages have to be update...

Re: Mint 14 kde audacious playlist distorted

I don't think I'll mess with that because all other GTK apps work quite well and look fine. The problem is definetely in audacious. When it happens, I can go to file>settings>playlist and change anything there and it's gone, all works well. Only if I close the program and restart it, the playlist is...

Re: making Mint14 kde 64 bit multiarch problem

Thanks for the link, but this doesn't help. My problem seems to some kind of dependency hell. BTW, i can install skype and the 32bit libs that come with it without having anything uninstalled. So there must be something in the ia32-libs package that causes this. How can I find out what it is and wor...

Re: making Mint14 kde 64 bit multiarch problem

I already tried that, it's the same as trying to install ia32-libs. Apt says: Die folgenden Pakete werden ENTFERNT: [the following packages are to be REMOVED] kde-workspace kde-workspace-bin kscreensaver kscreensaver-xsavers kscreensaver-xsavers-extra plasma-desktop plasma-netbook I also tried to us...

Re: making Mint14 kde 64 bit multiarch problem

I searched for this keyword, but I didn't get this search result. There seems to be no such package, only ia32-libs but no ia32-libs-multiarch. Even when I specifically search for the latter I only get the former as single result. A little googling came up with this workaround: sudo dpkg --add-archi...

Mint 14 kde audacious playlist distorted

Hi, when using audacious in gtk mode things get strange. Everything works fine until I close audacious and start it again (e.g. after a shutdown): the old playlist is loaded, but the display goes kind of haywire. Some songs appear twice in the onscreen list and when I mouse over the doubles they dis...

making Mint14 kde 64 bit multiarch problem

Hi, in order to play the latest humblebundle games (check 'em out, looks promising, especially Brütal Legend) I have to turn my Mint 14 kde 64bit system multiarch, because the installers and games are 32 bit binaries. If I remember correctly, in order to do so I have to install the 32bit shared libs...

need help partitioning my new HDD (4096 sector alignment)

Hi, my harddrive broke down so I got a new one, and I decided for a new start from scratch and to try to do everything right this time. I tried looking up partition alignment, but couldn't figure it out, sorry, too much contradicting infos out there. Never cared for these things in the past but writ...
