use gparted to delete the new ntfs drives you created on the 80GB drive and leave the space as unpartitoned. boot into windows and use the disk manager to create the new ntfs drives. windows is very fussy about how drives are created and what they are partitioned as. ie anything not MS partitioned i...

well Ubuntu does this so i expect you can.
You just need to make your DVD a repository in apt list.

I haven't got any Ubuntu systems left to get you the apt entry. :(

I am just wondering if it is the refresh rate of the LCD as I have seen the same thing with LCDs on all sorts of systems. even on running systems some LCD just wont give a pict...

I like your suggestions they nice finishing touches.
For No 5 I'm not so keen on including development tools in a default install. Why would Jane/Joe Blow want dev tools?
Dev tools could be and install option or menu option to install dev tools easily and automatically.

GRUB install to MBR

I have found that at the last part of the install questions: "where to put grub" is abit too simple or not simple enough (not enough options). It already picks the boot disks MBR to install GRUB to but what if you have more than one disk or do not want GRUB installed to the MBR at all. This may requ...

I dont know if it is out goal but it is a great idea. It could be an option at install (or after): -workstation -MCE would this be the same as adding MythTV to the distro. but then you have knopMyth. I would like an MCE computer but not all of my computers to be one. Then you can have a front end MC...

It is a Gtk sudo, good for using with Gtk written GUI apps.
sudo uses a sodoers list and you use your own password to be root.
su needs a root or the particular users password to use unless you are already root.

I use GNUCash for my home accounting. It is a double entry accounting system.
I love it.
I can import files from the bank or other accounting apps.

It doesn't fix your problem but I just like spreading the word.

Try turning off the onboard sound card in the BIOS settings.

Unless you want to use 2 sound cards, then set the onboard SC IRQ manually in the BIOS.

I would try turning off disk controllers at the BIOS level that you don't use.

There could be an off chance it is the SCSI CDROM playing silly buggers. try using and IDE one if you can.

since you only have 2 linux partitions grub and boot files are in your / partition, nothing goes in swap. the installer would (should) have changed the MBR (master boot record) on your master hard disk to put a grub there from the / partion. if you reinstall windows it will overwrite the MBR and you...
