Select the data range, start the Chart wizard, select Scatter (XY), click Next. On the second page of the wizard, select the radio button for "Data series in rows".

Re: I am so very stuck Dx

I did the same thing on a Toshiba laptop I had, snoopy. It had a physical switch to turn the wifi on and off. One day it stopped working and I spent all kinds of time trying to figure out what was wrong before I realized I had turned the switch off!

Sure, but Calligra Office is a fork or continuation of KOffice, made for KDE and they've been doing a lot of work on it. It looks very interesting and has a lot of stuff that LibreOffice doesn't. https://www.calligra.org/tour/calligra-suite/

Re: Going with KDE any advices

I'm also checking out the Mint 17 KDE version--just installed it on my old laptop, while I am running Cinnamon on my main laptop. I've liked Cinnamon from the beginning but hadn't tried KDE since back in the version 3 days, but I've been wanting to try out some of the KDE apps like Calligra Office w...

One other thing to be extra sure about your backup: Copy your windows virtual machine files to an external drive separately, so you still have them no matter what else happens. :) I'm not knowledgable about Virtual Box, but there should be a (probably hidden) subdirectory in your home directory wher...

ctrl-alt-F8 to go back to login screen and log in

note: path is .kde/..., not .kde4/....

Re: New KDE user: How do I restore my panel back to default?

Thanks, I saw that on the KDE forums, but: - The kquitapp plasma command doesn't work. I just logged out of kde and logged in to a terminal session instead. - There is no such file as ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc However there is one named ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc I wil...

[Solved] New KDE user: restore my panel back to default?

I'm new to KDE but not to linux. I just installed Mint 17 KDE on my secondary laptop (it took about 3x as long to do as Cinnamon and updating took another 1.5 hours, so please don't tell me to reinstall :) -- I don't want to create a new user account either as I like to always use the same login nam...

Re: If I don't want to upgrade to Linux Mint 17 how do I ...

goog, I searched and found a gtkpod.deb at http://www.flapane.com/nix.php which theoretically you should be able to just download the file and double-click to install. I would like to add a few points about upgrading (ignore if you are dead-set against doing it). If you save snapshots of your window...

Re: Software Manager

So it isn't in the Games menu? You can press Alt-F2 and type xinv3d at the prompt, or enter it in the terminal. If you run it in the terminal and there is a problem, you will see what the error is. If that isn't the correct command, you can look in Synaptic Package Manager (@karlchen, I do see it in...

Re: Linux Deepin a new Linux Mint serious challenger

But in Cinnamon just open "Hot Corners" in system settings, and UN-tick "hover enabled . Then you have to physically click on icon to trigger actions. Will NOT trigger by 'poking'... Well, there are no instructions on hot corners that I can find, but from what I can tell, for that method to ...

Re: Linux Deepin a new Linux Mint serious challenger

That looks really nice, thanks for the overview. I like many of the concepts in their desktop. The only thing is, even though I use Cinnamon which also has hot corners, I always wind up just turning them off because I am always accidentally triggering them, which drives me crazy. What I need is the ...

[Solved] How to add templates to Nemo Create New Document?

The Nemo File menu, as well as its right-click context menu, has a submenu "Create New Document" whose first item says "No templates installed" and second item is "Empty Document", which creates a text file. :?: My question is how to get some templates on that menu, such as LibreOffice Writer or Cal...

Re: Lost Open Office

It may not have installed correctly. What procedure did you use to install it? Did you get the .deb from openoffice.org? Does Open Office start up if you press Alt-F2 and enter the command "soffice"? If it does, you can create a menu entry for it by right-clicking on the menu button and selecting Co...

Semi-new Mintist

Hi all, I have been a full-time Ubuntu user since 2007, usually staying on LTS releases only, and started using Cinnamon on it about a year or so ago. Also about a year ago, I put Mint 15 XFCE on my old laptop, which I don't use much, but it gave me more exposure to the "Mint way" of doing things, w...
