Re: Hi, I'm new here.

Hi, when you burn the dvd use the slowest speed, some drives have problems with some coating of dvds. Hi, I will try burning at a slower speed to see if it works. =) Do you have an empty USB drive you can boot / install with? I do, several actually. In the BIOS it gives me the options USB-FDD, USB-...

Re: KMail

For me, I go with Thunderbird. Really simple, plus plugins, addons and part of the open source Mozilla family. Back in the day Opera Mail was my "go to" email client/service, back when Opera was Opera, not the new copy of Chrome. If I had to pick a current close second, it would be Kmail, simple and...

Slow loading to Cinnamon Desktop

I had noticed that LM 16 Cinnamon loaded to desktop very slow, close to a minute (GRUB to desktop), to see my desktop. Not a major gripe, since everything else worked really well. I tried various Ubuntu default flavors (Installed), loaded from GRUB to desktop on average 30 to 40 seconds. Then LM 17 ...

Please consider Timeshift for system restore, next LM

Please, if you would include Timeshift https://launchpad.net/timeshift in the next release of Linux Mint. A very good tool to do a system restore http://teejeetech.blogspot.in/p/timeshift.html Just an idea, anyway. Thanks.

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

Please on the next release of Linux Mint, exclude default programs that require the Mono Libs. These Libs take up a LOT of space. Just my 2 bits.

I seem to remember KDE's default email client is Kmail. I hope that helps. Welcome to the Linux Mint Forums. :)

Re: How to install copy.com a good alternative to Dropbox

I tested it and IMHO it's not working flawless.... Hello. Sorry to hear that. :( Do you know what issue it is having? I added the PPA but didn't worked as it should be. Some Qt4 file conflicts i guess. But your how-to isn't really handy either. You need to run it from the terminal each time you wan...

Greetings to all.

Hello. I first tried Linux back in early June 2008. :) If I remember correctly, it was Fedora 9 and it was not for me, unfortunately. Then I tried Mandriva (Mageia is related to this one.), this is where I got my feet wet in Linux. Mandriva worked really well for me, and fairly easy to learn. :D The...
