Re: icons

An sich ist es doch egal, wo das Icon liegt, da du dich ja beim Erstellen eines neuen Starters beim Klicken auf das Symbolfeld eh durch einen Dateidialog hangelst.

Re: Kernel versions

I would recommend to do so. You'll find the security issues fixed in new releases on ubuntu release notes: ... 3.16.0-39: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2637-1/ 3.16.0-46: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2717-1/ 3.16.0-50: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2750-1/ 3.16.0-53: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2...

Re: Kernel versions

I have 3.16.0-38 installed with LM 17.2 Cinnamon. Then I upgraded LM to 17.3. The update manager says I can upgrade the kernel to 3.19.0-32. Can anyone say if it is strictly necessary? Is there any way to know if something will go wrong with the new kernel (to know that prior to upgrading it)? It i...

Re: "Make Link" not showing up in file manager's sub-menu

The acceptable-almost-everywhere method is to hold down a modifier key (in Caja it's the Alt key) and drag the source into the destination. Same with Nemo BUT: you have to drag first and while dragging press the ALT key. Unlike in Windows where you can press and hold the ALT key and then drag the s...

Re: I miss my vertical scrolling arrows.

I have recently begun using Linux Mint 17.2. I love it for the most part but I cannot figure out the loss of vertical scrolling arrows. I've never noticed any (vertical) scrolling arrows in Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon with the exception of Google Chrome. I think they are pretty useless since the inventi...

Re: Updating BIOS

Looks to me like you not only have a use for Windows, but in fact "need" Windows at this point to update your BIOS. That is unless hp offers a bootable CD image for BIOS updates. If Windows is the only option hp offers, then Windows is going to be the easiest, if not the only, option. I think you'r...

Re: Unable to reinstall LM17 from scratch

OK, it took nearly 40 min to install all level 1 to 5 updates and the latest 3.19 kernel but everything went fine. No problems with updating an old fresh Mint 17 installation.

[SOLVED] Where to discuss about Cinnamon 2.8 beta?

After Clem's posting earlier this day about testing the beta release of 2.8 I installed it following his instructions. He asked for posting issues and regressions but now I cannot find his posting on Segfault any more.
I experienced some regressions using the messenger Telegram I would like to report.
