Cinnamon PPA with Extensions(updated Feb 16)

UPDATE: We are moving over about 900 miles and no idea when we'll have a place to live. We have 90 days to find a job and a place to live after the move. I won't be able to update cinnamon or the extensions for a long time. I'll have internet but my laptop doesn't have 3d acceleration graphics driv...

Re: Enlightenment (E17) SVN PPA

I'm slowly updating the PPA with the latest svn downloads from yesterday. The wizard seems to be broken since they changed it and forced ConnMan to be used by default no matter what. Not sure if anyone would use ConnMan as it's probably missing features that Network Manager has. ConnMan can't be ins...

Re: Lost my desktop background and icons

Well the problem is that Nautilus is installed.
They make nautilus for Gnome.
It would be easier if they had it setup to run in any desktop environment.
It's actually simple to do but they don't seem to care too.

Re: Incorrect SCREEN RESOLUTIONS

Mint xfce give me incorrect screen resolution choices, with incorrect aspect ratios. It only offers 1024x768, 800x600, 640x480, but I'd like to fully exploit my monitor's resolution potential. How can this be fixed? I am thinking of: a) editing the resolutions offered (but I tried that and it doesn...

Re: Enlightenment (E17) SVN PPA

Thank you very much for doing this, it's a lot of fun to play with. I was wondering if you were able to help with one thing - if you start Nautilus, you get a Gnome desktop on that screen as well, and there doesn't seem to be any way of getting rid of it. On Bodhi Linux, you can fix it by putting t...

Yep just create the folder and put the file inside it.
It should use it but if not just manually select that file.

Re: Reset Wallpaper to default

the wallpapers are in /usr/share/backgrounds and I think the one you are after is in /usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint-debian I'm not sure why they keep adding them to sub folders of backgrounds when the display tool only looks in the root of the folder, anyway you can navigate to it from the displa...

Re: Firefox 4.0.1

Firefox is a Mint package, not Debian. Debian uses Iceweasel, a debranded version of Firefox. That's not the only change in iceweasel. They add patches that Mozilla doesn't approve. I wouldn't trust iceweasel as the people patching it aren't internet browser developers. I have no idea what security...

Re: Linux Mint E17

Indeed, in 11 years of development they have made a great DE. (Note that other DE's are even older, Gnome 1997, KDE 1996) And in 20 years, many people from all over the world have made the great platform where it can run on: the Linux kernel. Now they only have to make a proper SiS 741 driver and I...

Re: LMDX having ISSUES on an Acer 9410 Laptop

They released Xfce 4.8.
I never had problems with the panel and I selected the one that converts the old config.
Here is a page that'll help you fix some of the problems including the menu.

Re: Linux Mint E17

My latest desktop using merlwiz79's ppa for E17 on top of Mint 11. Thanks to merlwiz79. His boot is better than mine. I'm running this on an HP laptop with Nvidia proprietary driver. On a cold boot I'm at 139 MB. I was just seeing how low I could go with leaving the basic startup apps. I was missin...

Re: Linux Mint E17

Merlwiz79, why not give us some Mint's E17 loving? Upload the .iso you built to a server and let the link here on the forums for download. I guess Linux Mint's users can help with the tests. This way you can have a more consistent results to present the .iso to Clem's. Think about it" Regards ...

Re: Linux Mint E17

Do you think that Mint E17 will run on a Windows NT 4.0 machine from 199x, using Vesa for the graphics? I unloaded some of the modules I wasn't using and it's using less than 130MB of RAM .( gnome-system-monitor uses 4.6 MB ) I'm using GDM and I still have some things running that don't need to be....

Re: Enlightenment (E17) SVN PPA

Added emodule-trash to the PPA.
I patched it to get use exo-utils.
This allows you to actually use the file manager you want.
I've tested with PCManFM, Thunar and Nautilus.
Just open Preferred Applications and select the file manager you want.

I tried to install it on my LMDX portable install, and I got an error message about missing or incompatible dependencies.
You need to install dropbox 1st.
