Re: Cinnamon 17.1 ... cannot create desktop link ... how to?

Thanks for the replies. Adding quotes " link path " before and after the link path. enables the launcher to accept the "command". Unfortunately, the launcher doesn't do anything when clicked. Adding the prefix nemo, opens nemo to the correct folder. I am still unable to create a ...

Re: Cinnamon 17.1 ... cannot create desktop link ... how to?

AAA games and GPU drivers - gaming discussion

Linux has two challenges when it comes to gaming, the lack of AAA titles and the the lack of GPU software to run them. On gaming sites one often sees screenshot comparisons between the PC version and the console versions. If and when Linux is added to that comparison, as it now stands, the Linux ver...

Re: What is your back up strategy?

With Windows 7 I used the HDD provided version of Acronis Truimage to secure my data via images kept on a different HDD. With Linux Mint 17 I haven't found software that could do the same, eg fast gui based image clone and restore (restore via OS or Boot CD/DVD). After a lot of testing I have come t...

Oooooo it took me HOURS, but I finally did it ... wooo hooo :D I deleted the pesty Stylish and Mint Search Enhancer from Firefox. Set as global extensions they could only be disabled and not deleted in Firefox. If the user can disable these, then they should also be able to delete them easily. Now a...

~ soap box time ~ ... lots of opinions, some postive, some not so much ... :D Thank you Linux Mint. :D :D :D A great operating system, and better for me than Windows 7.
