Re: failed to boot after update

The boot sector is working, it started GRUB, which started the kernel and initramfs. The message ''gave up waiting for root device'' is from the kernel; GRUB has told it root=UUID=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx and there is no partition to be found with that UUID. Initramfs is not a good plac...

Re: how to download all library dependencies

''is there any way download all the library file separately'' Yes there is. All of them. All of them! Like Time Zone Names in Hungarian, and GIMP help files in Brazilian, just in case they come in handy :? The Package Manager looks in /var/cache/apt/archives/ for deb packages before it tries to dow...

Re: how to download all library dependencies

If you install software with Synaptic, Software Manager, or apt-get, it will find and automatically install all dependencies. Are you trying to install something you got somewhere other than the Mint/Ubuntu repositories? yes debian packages but all with broken dependencies says cannot be updated or...

If you search the forums, you'll find a post from somebody who did change over to the Rebecca repositories. He was asking how to fix what he had broken in the process. Myself, I am going to wait until they come out with the updater. But you can do whatever you like. Remember that Mint also comes wi...
