[SOLVED] Install disc doesn' t see Windows 7 is installed
I am trying to install Linux 17.3 Mate on a system with Windows 7 via CD. After Linux mint mate 17.2 CD loads the test version, I select the install icon. The install option I get is "erase disk before installing Linux" . Normally I would go right ahead and use that option, but not in this...

Re: vboxclient the virtualbox kernel service is not running
I'm not going to look for it again, I didn't book mark it. Perhaps it wasn't the developer who said that. if it wasn't then I humbly apologize for the offence, and it may also have been edited out, I don't know. It was in one of the posts I read on this subject and I have to admit that I assumed it ...

Re: vboxclient the virtualbox kernel service is not running
Got the same message after one of the latest updates. At first it panicked me and after noting that nothing bad followed it, I was wondering why it was even displayed in the first place. After having done a search I found posts by the developer saying, he designed it that way. What a stupid answer, ...

Re: Battery charge time remaining calculation
As it turns out, the problem was caused by a defective battery. I had 4 systems showing the same symptom but reporting the battery was at 100%. All 4, (Genuine DELL batteries), were defective but giving ridicules time remaining calculations. Replaced the batteries with new ones and problem is solved...

[SOLVED] Battery charge time remaining calculation
I'm getting crazy battery charge time remaining calculations, in the order of 20 to 55 hours. I need a clue of where to start looking. Is this a hardware or software function?
The system in question is a Dell Inspiron 6400 running Linux Mate Rafaela

Perhaps they could make the message a little more meaningful to the uninitiated
, ie. "the package already exists in the LINUX repository"
