I have a Canon MG6450 which also appears in the supported printer list https://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/canon_mg6450.html#technical-information But their website is as stated by the OP to be telling us "On Linux, you need to set up libusb device protections" Does anyone have any ideas how to do this?...

Hi cosmo, Thank you once again for your response I have now used the package manager - Synaptic to add the flashplugin-installer and i can now view flash files such as news videos on the BBC News website. There is no flashplayer installed hence Firefox does not show any such plugin.

It may have been helpful if I had mentioned the following information in my initial post:

OS = Mint Maya 13
kernel = 3.2.0-23 generic (i686)

Firefox = 45.0

LM13 is hosted on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) using VMWare Workstation 10.0.3

What happens if you ungrab the mouse and keyboard, can you then setup any keyboard settings inside the VM (virtualbox) https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualBox#Un-Grabbing_the_mouse_.26_keyboard --I usually check the application settings available to see if i can find anything relevant.
