Make a Live USB of Linux iso from Linux

OK, so Unetbootin is one option, but doesn't work unless the disto is listed. dd doesn't always work for example (Thinstation). I can download RUFUS or LiLi (but they are both for Windows). So truthfully for an almost fail-proof way to create a Live USB of Linux I have to have a dual boot with Win (...

Re: GRUB will not detect Windows 10 Installation (LMDE 2)

In my experience GRUB does not detect windows when it was installed on the wrong HDD. it has to be on the same drive as the MBR (Master Boot Record) which is usually the Windows HDD. Done install it on a partition, just the Master Windows drive.

Re: stream my Windows 10 display to Mate

since it's win-10 on that surface pro, you could just use VNC into that surface pro, - or use a similar re-routeing technique. Note: that the majority of tutorials, show the Mate Desktop From the Windows desktop, & that you wish to look the other way. Yeah, VNC doesnt work very well for streaming v...

Re: How do I install Itunes?

There is a program called Crossover made by CodeWeavers. Its basically WINE but it does everything automatically with a decent library of officially supported software, a huge community base of supported software as well as an option to install unsupported software. It does cost a few bucks I think ...

This link explains how to reset CMOS aka BIOS on Asus motherboards. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?27562-BIOS-resetting-methods since it is a laptop you will most likely have to remove the back cover and remove the BIOS battery for a few minutes then put it back in. looks like a huge watc...

This post may help. http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Cut/copy_and_paste_using_visual_selection further toward the bottom it explains how to map keyboard keys and that you need to install vim-full sudo apt-get install vim-full to be able to copy to clipboard.
