Still why wouldn’t it just say that I have 16 gig and then state how much is used for this disk cashing?

when I had just 8 gig it said I had 8 gig...

So I just installed another 8 gig of ram to bring my computer up to 16 gig and the system info only shows 11.7 gig of ram? Befor any of you ask its a new computer (few months) yes the memory is identical, same brand, same type. It shows 16 gig in the bios and 16 gig on my Winsuck 7 side. Linux Mint ...

Just thought I would point out he awesome amount of Linux supported games on sale on Steam, and the number of games available for Linux has doubled. Thought you might want know and perhaps support the cause.

How much RAM?

I'm running 64bit Cinnamon with 8 gigs RAM on a new machine and I was wondering how much it supports I been thinking of running a couple different game servers at a time. One of the game like lots of RAM. And as cheap as it is now I was thinking of bumping up to 16gig.

Thanks I will give it a go once I read up on the best way to install mint on a SSD. I never thought I could get away with out reloading windows, that’s an all day event with all the updates, I didn’t make the mistake of windows SATAN I mean 10.

Nope didn't work, the crashing does not seem to be specific to Fire Fox. Or any web site for that matter.

Just ran the Linux memory test and is was perfect only time I get the hard crash is with some kind of web browser.
