I figured it out. Had to set the video scale mode to 125% and then back to 133 after I installed.

I'm trying to install in virtualbox, but can't get past the location screen. The whole screen isn't visible so I normally experiment with tab to find the next option but I can't make it work in Cindy. Is there a way to make the live version display bigger, so I can see the whole screen in the instal...

There is usually just one movie streaming at a time or music playing. It's not a hugely used server

I have a server set up for use as a file and plex server. I am getting close to needing more storage and am toying with the idea of setting up a raid 5 array.
Is a raid setup worth the extra work or should I just get a get one big drive? Opinions?

should bring up the settings.

Haven't had any luck yet but I'll keep looking

I was playing with settings in plank and selected autohide. The dock hid itself and now I can't get it to unhide.
I tried purging it and reinstalling with no change. Is there a way to bring up the settings menu from the terminal?
Or how I could get it working

So what kernel is supported right now? 4.4 or 4.8? To be honest I find whats being supported or not a little confusing

Did what you suggested and dropped to 4.8 kernel and seems to be working well.

I can roll back no problem, but it still crashes. I can restart network manager without rebooting is all.

Hi All I've been having problems with my wifi crashing after my laptop wakes up from sleep. I just reinstalled 18.3 Cinnamon so it is a fresh install. I have hibernate disabled. After waking up no wifi signal are listed and I had been issuing the command " sudo -S systemctl restart network-manager" ...

Hooked my tv to my laptop with hdmi to watch a movie. After unhooking it and rebooting the video on the laptop is
horrible and is full of horizontal lines. I use the open source amd drivers. How would I go about diagnosing?

I just bought a samsung 850 evo for my laptop.
I wanted to know if there are any differences in setup over a hd?
I have found lots of stuff regarding fstrim and just as many saying it isn't required anymore.
I will be installing mint mate18.1

I just tested in in virtualbox. Right click the desktop and select "desktop settings" Hit back arrow in top left corner. Find the "panel" icon and add a new panel from there.
