Re: rsync error [Solved]

Thought it was going to be something silly. I had forgot to put a '/' in front of the destination folder

Code: Select all

rsync -avz --delete /home/rob/Documents/ 192.168.1.61:/media/Storage/Pfd27/Documents

I do have a couple windows machines that sometimes need to connect occasionally. I have setup mint 18.1 in virtualbox with the same smb.conf and separate file containing my shares from the machine with the issue to do some testing. Everything works fine, so I'm assuming smb.conf is ok. Also went thr...

Re: Help with ssh to multiple computers

Thanks for the reply.

I got it working. I had run keygen again while setting up the second computer instead of just uploading the same keys to both boxes.
All good now

rsync/grsync

I'm trying to use grsync to backup certain folders in my home folder and not the entire home folder itself.
Is this possible? I have been looking but haven't found a answer.

Re: migrate fully configured Lm18 / move to another Pc

Ive never tried it but you could use the backup tool to backup the software selection on computer #1 and then restore on computer #2.
Not sure if it would keep all your settings.
I would set up a couple virtual machines to test it first though.
