Re: Different Plymouths, Nvidia driver (367) makes usb keyboard not work at hdd decryption screen

Agreed, there's obviously a process not starting before decryption preventing USB devices from starting under Normal boot conditions. Curious then that you can 'jump start' them by running, say, Grub/Advanced/recovery before actually entering your decryption key. This would suggest that the actual d...

Re: Different Plymouths, Nvidia driver (367) makes usb keyboard not work at hdd decryption screen

I'm experiencing the exact same issue on a different rig in 18.1 Cinnamon ( 18 too, was hoping the update would sort it ). You're on the right track thinking it was something to do with the nvidia drivers. If I remove them ( and the card ) and use intel CPU integrated graphics everything is fine. Fr...

I installed 18 Sarah but removed it, no AMD support ( should have checked that ) and re-installed 17.3 ( ...

Re: Help Please, folders on desktop.

Thank you Cosmo ( and altair4 for the suggestion ).

That sorted it perfectly. I had a feeling, after looking at the user-dirs.dirs file it would be something like that.

Deeply appreciated guys :)

Re: Help Please, folders on desktop.

Thanks for the reply 8)

This doesn’t seem to have solved it.

I had to install the editor first then found the option easy enough, clicked it on and off a few times ( it wasn't on ) I hit the reset option too, but alas...

[Solved] Help Please, folders on desktop.

17.3 Cinnamon Theme Black Mint. AMD propriety Driver. Desktop image. http://i.imgur.com/1G1yKvN.png Weird one this. There's no reason that I can think of for this to have happened. All my home folders are being displayed on the desktop. If I delete them they will also disappear from my home folder. ...

Re: Upgrading from 17.1 to 17.2

Obviously all my hardware and proprietary drivers are currently working. I won't be able to 'test' 'old kernel + 17.2' until its actually installed. Is there a possibility of running into problems if I choose this route? It's less likely. The kernel update will change how your hardware interacts wi...

Re: Upgrading from 17.1 to 17.2

Couldn't find it. Didn't read it. bullet 2 of "Additional info" I hope you have backups. Ok, as you have both sent me to the same link, the very same link that I had already read before posting this thread would one of you kindly take a screenshot of that page and underline precisely where it answe...

Re: Upgrading from 17.1 to 17.2

@ofb Thank you for the reply. Yes I did find that link but it didn't provide the specific answer to my question. Just instructions on what to do. Regardless you make a good point about running a live version before upgrading. Presumably a Live version ( from the 17.2 ISO ) will feature the latest ke...

[Solved] Upgrading from 17.1 to 17.2

Fairly simple question which I'm surprised I can't find an answer to by doing an internet search but there you go :? So I figured I'd update from 17.1 to 17.2 via either terminal or Software manager. I gather if I do it via terminal I'll be able to update the kernel too? ( secondary request could so...
