Re-format the partition for Linux to logical in Gparted and select the advanced install option.

Re: Windows 10 Corrupt LM19 FS

Sounds like you installed Linux in a different mode... UEFI or Legacy to the way Windows is installed. Boot the live version of Linux and run blkid -o list You're looking for something like vfat /boot/efi in the windows partition. If you have one with (U)efi re-create your USB with rufus on windows ...

Re: Windows 10 Forced Update Destroyed My Partition Table! Possible to Fix?

System 'borking' by Windows 10 upgrades while running a boot with Linux can be avoided by partitioning the drive before installing 10 and using diskpart to "create partition primary" and install to that. I've an ssd set up as follows /dev/sdf1 ntfs Recovery (not mounted) 12AEA87EAEA85BCB /dev/sdf2 v...

Re: Flatpak not getting installed

You didn't say which version you're using!!

In 19 it's a known issue if installing from the software manager. There is a fix on github the dev's are aware and the problem will be resolved by updating your machine once the fix has been tested and approved. Not long I should imagine.

Re: Which desktop environment of Linux Mint 19 "Tara" should I go with?

Cinnamon, I think, is probably the easiest to pick up coming from W7. I tired all desktop environments across various distros when starting using Linux and found it most comfortable. MATE a close second but I felt it to 'dated' ( no bad thing ) for my taste. It comes down to personal taste and the o...

Re: Unable to mount 571 GB Volume

Thanks Mattyboy, you mean to boot live Win 10? Or just boot Win 10 installation and then go to repair computer, finally cmd? I can do both and it's possible, I believe you mean the latter one. ----------------------------------------- Thank you both Either method should work... you just need W10 to...

Re: Unable to mount 571 GB Volume

If you create a Windows 10 USB or DVD you can boot to that with the drive plugged in. Wait until it gives you the option to install, obviously you're not going to.. now press ctrl + alt and ( I think ) f10 to pull up the windows cmd command line. Enter shutdown /s /f /t 0 and press enter. Your machi...

Re: Torrents refusing to download ?

They do seem to start, but stay on 0.0 %. For me the strange thing is that it occurred only recently, I have previously met no problem with the torrents and have watched a ton of movies. Staying on 0.0% suggests that there is not starting at all. Are you downloading the actual torrent file then add...
