Re: New install - Old Bookmarks now gone

I've never lost my bookmarks since I created a Sync account with Mozilla Firefox, which is my browser of choice.

You can do the same with Chromium / Chrome.

Re: message @ install with usb install

It looks like you did not install the Linux GRUB2 Bootloader to /dev/sda

you have installed it to /dev/sda7

Personally, I'd just use EasyBCD v2.2 to add a Boot entry for Linux Mint to Windows.

Try installing "printer-driver-escpr" from the mint software manager first.

xana

Try installing "printer-driver-escpr" from the mint software manager first and then installing the printer driver.

gcvisel: Linux Mint 14 is no longer supported. Upgrade to LM 17.x

Re: Will Linux Mint run on my HP 15-d013sx ?

You can install it in UEFI/EFI format. I've done it on my custom desktop successfully. Make sure you boot the Mint DVD/USB in UEFI mode, after having disabled Fast-Start-Up in Windows and disabled Secure Boot in the UEFI BIOS. You will need to direct the Mint Bootloader to the EFI partition of the G...

Re: Dual boot on "Hackbook" - how to install?

1. Unlikely, but I recommend backing up anything important before installing a new O/S or changing the partition structure. There's always a chance for something to go wrong. 2. No, you can't. 2b. Yes, it does. 2c. No, but any data on the stick will be destroyed in 'burning' the ISO image. I like Ru...

Re: Mint 17 OS crashes and give ubuntu 14 interface at reboo

Your English is fine.

I don't have the knowledge to help, but you will need to provide more info for the experts:

1. What 'package' did you install.
2. What flavour of Mint: Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce or KDE?
3. Mint 17.0 Quiana?

Re: Installing Mint

Dude I was a lifelong Windows guy until about 6 weeks ago. I had never tried Linux before. I now think it's a shame I didn't try Linux years ago. If you can ditch your pre-conceptions of how an O/S 'should' operate, then Linux is for everyone. You can do it, maybe not on the first go, but stick in t...
