I found myself the infos and i m very surprised to see the kernel have blobs

There is any chance to make mint fully opensource like trisquel?

if the html5 proprietary is the wivedine stuff you can disable it in about:config or there is something more? blobs in the kernel is orrible, are you sure about that? there is any source info? it sound really strange to me someting like that, open source should be something inside the heart of linux...

when i install mint if i leave uncheked the proprietary stuff all i have inside my os is fully opensource or there is still some proprietary blobs?

[Solved]Damn me!! new kernel and virtualbox

i'm with mint 18 i've upgraded the kernel 4.8 and everything worked fine, but not with virtualbox, i cannot start the virtual machines, so i've deleted the kernel and i go back to lastes 4.4 now vm is running but i have some errors when i try to install 2 module virtualbox ext pack and virtalbox gue...

The repositories should be in https, i think this is a security breach more important than blogs, man in the middle is so bad things, imagine if someone will redirect a kernel update with a malicious one and so

i've tryed to unistall this package atm it seems videos and mp3 working, i dont usually watch dvd so i should be fine without this package ^^

there is a way to see what proprietary software and driver i've installed with mint? i remember i've installed proprietary stuff with mint setup, but now i'd like to unistall it and run only open source software, there is a way for do that?

reading a news about new kernel version, i was wondering if the newer kernel bug/issue found and fixed in the newest kernel tree (4.7 4.8 etc etc) will still be implemented in "our" 4.4 kernel or not
