Re: ATI Proprietary Drivers

The fglrx driver works fine for me on an AMD A8-4500M for my laptop. There are some advanced options in the ATI administration configuration that enable tear free options. They are disabled by default, but they work great for me.

Re: what is the fastest download method

I used the torrent and it maxed out my 15mb download limit. Last I checked there were like 60,000+ seeds.

Re: Update Manager needs to be refreshed manually every.sing

By default it checks for updates every 30 minutes. Also, there was an issue where one of the update servers was offline a few days ago. Maybe it is still not reachable sometimes?

Maybe this is your trouble:

Re: Youtube video lagging

I have always found youtube videos to be smoother with chrome that firefox on windows. I think the same holds true on linux as well. Also, be sure you have the proprietary video card drivers installed through Menu -> Administration -> Driver Manager. Also, try full screen vs windowed to see if it ma...

Re: Video tearing - Mint 17.2 Rafaela

Think I found a fix for myself. Did you install the fglrx proprietary driver? Do that with the driver manager. Menu -> Administration -> Driver Manager Today I found a setting in the ATI control panel. Menu -> Preferences -> AMD Catalyst Control Center (Administration) Under Display Options there is...

Re: Mouse pointer disappears when at the top of the screen

Works fine for me with Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64-bit 1366x768 and Google Chrome 45.0.2454.85 (64-bit).
AMD APU A8-4500M laptop.

Is it only doing that for Chrome, or is it system wide? Do you have any extensions installed or did you modify your settings?

Re: Auto maximize windows question

Is it possible Chrome is remembering the last used window size on your second monitor. Or possible just in general and monitor independent?

Re: Youtube full screen not working well

I am using 17.2 x64 Cinnamon and it is working for me. Did you install the proprietary video card driver? Try clicking Menu -> Administration -> Driver Manager. That will list all the available proprietary drivers you can try. Look for one for your video card and click on that. You will probably hav...

Re: repositories list error

I have noticed this a few times too. Sounds like the server is down on their end. You can put the address (http://extra.linuxmint.com/) in your web browser as well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
