Re: New Minty Forum -Codes in older posts not displaying in code format anymore

I daresay no one has noticed that weirdness then otherwise there would have been a post or two-so it could very well be my crazy computer going off the rails :).

New Minty Forum -Codes in older posts not displaying in code format anymore

Is this an anomaly of my computer or . . . I don't know if anyone has noticed or has and it is being worked on -or my computer is nuts, but, codes in older posts are no longer in the 'code select' format as before. As well, it appears in order to use the 'code select' now, the text has to be pasted,...

Re: * Security Alert 11-30-2016, Update your Firefox, Tor, & Thunderbird applications.

Not sure if I'm supposed to getting all this when using one of the fixes from the directed link to Ubuntu http://askubuntu.com/questions/851190/how-to-update-libavcodec-on-ubuntu-14-04/851192#851192 xdicey@ ~ $ sudo apt-get install libavcodec [sudo] password for xdicey: Sorry, try again. Re: WOT in Firefox

I've never heard of this.

Can someone please elaborate on what exactly WOT is, what it does or suppose to do and how to remove it from FF, please?

Re: * Security Alert 11-30-2016, Update your Firefox, Tor, & Thunderbird applications.

Got the FF update (50.0.2) for Cinnamon 17.2. Was it a security update or just an app update? The libavcodec warning is still there. Important and Urgent Security Update: Security Fix 50.0.2 Exploits for it seem to exist already as you might have learnt from post 1 . Thanks karlchen, What is intere...

Re: Minty forum style testing

It's not an unreasonable request but each custom style means maintenance work for me down the road when phpBB is upgraded. Given the amount of time I've spent on it this week there will be only these two styles for now: minty - widescreen just like the original style prosilver - not widescreen; thi...

Re: * Security Alert 11-30-2016, Update your Firefox, Tor, & Thunderbird applications.

No need to be concerned - fixed versions of Thunderbird (45.5.1) was in Updates yesterday, Firefox (50.0.2) today. So everyone using Mint 18 should be fine... can't vouch for earlier versions of Mint though Got the FF update (50.0.2) for Cinnamon 17.2. Was it a security update or just an app update...

Re: HP Printer no longer printing

UPDATE: I reinstalled the printer and it's working. The one thing I'd forgotten was that the Duplexer would not automatically turn on so had to go to System Settings and turn it on from there. Interestingly enough, the Fax was never installed at first installation and still didn't now. But that's a ...

Re: Microsoft joins Linux foundation

I hope this move is sincere but am very unsure of it's meaning at this time. will have to wait and see. Ms's bottom motive has always been profit. :( . . . as well considering MS' MO regarding fierce competitions, are they now employing the famous 'can't beat 'em so join 'em then destroy 'em' appro...

[RESOLVED] HP Printer no longer printing

My printer, Officejet Pro 8600, has not been printing for about a week or so. Device Communication error 5012 etc. I sort of ignored it and put stuff on a usb and print elsewhere. Tonight I thought to give it some time and did a 'Diagnose HPLIP Driver from the HP Device Manager. Here's the result. H...

[SOLVED] Bluetooth won't stay off

I don't really use Bluetooth for anything so I edited main.conf and changed 'InitiallyPowered = true' to '= false' but that did not work. I found these other 2 options, can anyone tell me 1. if either or both them are safe to use? 2. if either or both of them are safe to use, would an update reset t...

[solved] Forum Board time -my local time aren't the same

The Forum Board's time is an hour ahead of my time. DST changed today at 2am for us. Should the board be showing my local time? If yes, how do I do that?

Thanks

Same for me, sort of. I can use it but not map the buttons and I'm content with that so far.
Glad for you :D.
