Re: Wacom Tablet

I got a new cable today that works very well. Still the same message from Graphics Tablet- No tablet detected -yet I'm able to use it in GIMP and Inkscape. lsusb shows it xdicey@icymint ~ $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 003: ID 222a:0026 Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:8000 Intel Corp. Re: Wacom Tablet

Yes. That's the plan -to get a new cable.
Got GIMP 2.8.10 though.

It works in GIMP okay but 'Graphics Tablet' still not detecting the tablet. So I can't customize it that way. Based on this post it could be a kernel issue. I'll look into that.

thanks for your help.

Re: Wacom Tablet

Perhaps the CTE-450 belongs to an age long past, just like Win XP. Technology changes and we have to adapt :) Don't I know it. Still, with fingers crossed I had hopes it might have just worked with Mint. BTW, both MTE and CTE 450 were released about the same time in 2007. Do you have any problems c...

Re: [SOLVED] OpenGL compatiblilty

Yes. that's what I meant. I thought since it was just the 0.6 that's changed, it was that insignificant that the command would not show it; besides it didn't show the 0.4 in the first place anyway. xdicey@icymint ~ $ glxinfo | grep "OpenGL" OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center O...

Re: [SOLVED] OpenGL compatiblilty

I did but it returned the same info as before. I assume since I saw the updates in the 'update history' as well because the change is at the end, e.g. current ver 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.4; new version is 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.6. Is there a command that will show the full string? xdicey@icymint ~ $ glxinfo | grep...

Re: OpenGL compatiblilty

Yes, version 3.0 I recently gave the following advice to another member, and just edited it to your situation . . Another thing to check is to open the Mint Update Manager program > Edit > Preferences > Levels tab. Add a check to the level 4 and 5 to "Visible" only, and click the Apply button. Then...

Re: OpenGL compatiblilty

Instead of compiling it, why not use this PPA for version 2.78? Then you will get any Blender updates through Mint's Update Manager. 8) https://launchpad.net/~thomas-schiex/+archive/ubuntu/blender Thanks for pointing me to the PPA, rich. Far much easier as I was thinking of me and 'distance' in the...

Re: Wacom Tablet

Would these instructions be the same for Cinnamon 17.2? Doesn't seem to work. I see the tablet in GIMP but Graphics Tablet says: 'No Tablet detected. Please plug in or turn on your graphics tablet.' Yet it is plugged in. It's an old CTE-450 I used with XP way back when. It's quite old that even the ...

Re: SOLVED Install sigil in Mint 17?

My epub needs are simple too. I use Moon+ Reader Pro app on my tablet and I like that it allows a bit of customization of my content -mostly minutes, notes etc. Calibre is wonderful for converting LO or Word docs to epub but does not always render the toc and index the way I laid them out. Sigil wor...

I guess I'm asking how do I put my password in? I tried another way (inputting return first) and then: password enter and I received the message "sorry, please try again". If you mean you are trying to type your password in the terminal, it is never visible. Just type away and press enter. It does ...

Re: [SOLVED] 32bit FF update for 64bit too?

As pointed out by Cosmos, you will miss the next update for that particular item. This FF update was applied to both 64 and 32 bit. I had 'ignored' the update for the 32 bit. I also have a 64 bit system which is how I knew that there was a new update. I went to the 32 bit system and had to remove F...

[SOLVED] 32bit FF update for 64bit too?

Considering what Clem said here, https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=230440&start=40 should I apply this update? I've a 64bit machine. If I don't need it, how do I get it out of Update Manger then? Thanks. This issue is now fixed in firefox 49.0+linuxmint2+rosa. You can upgrade to this...
