Re: Lightning Tripping my Surge Protector

Another question I have is why it does that . Does lightning nearby actually cause a surge of electricity strong enough to damage a computer if no surge protection is provided?

Re: Chrome Extension Borked

I did that and reset everything, extensions, bookmarks, and theme. Fortunately Chrome retains all that. Nimbus still borked. :( I deleted the original Google-Chrome file, I assume that is correct. It takes a screenshot ok but thats all. Before I could open a photo in Chrome and select an area which ...

Click the controls button on the far right of the Chrome screen ("Customize and control Google Chrome")
Then choose Help and Report an issue from the drop-down menus.
Thanks, I did that just now.

Lightning Tripping my Surge Protector

When lightning strikes near by, and it has been doing that a lot lately(Florida), my surge protector shuts down my computer. I shut it down now when the Thunderstorms approach, Question is, can shutting the power off when the computer is running hurt the computer?

Chrome Extension Borked

Nimbus Screenshot and Screen Video Recorder, an extension of the Chrome browser has failed to work correctly since 19. I had hoped that would be corrected by now but no such luck. It seems that I am the only one who gives a darn about this great app.. I do not think there is any way to fix it as it ...

Hurrah

This mornings news was the best. The young men trapped in a cave in Thailand are all OK. While it will be some time before they actually are reunited with their families, they are ALL in good health after 10 (9) days in the dark. There are tears in my eyes just typing this.:D

Re: MBM2 Mint Box Mini

Three words. Five Year Warranty! :D
There is really no need to worry about failure due to Meltdown or other. I imagine that if those processors were no longer usable that a different cpu would be installed. That is a very unlikely scenario however. :)

Re: Thank you to those supporting others here!

It is truly amazing what a few individuals have accomplished especially when multi billion dollar corporations efforts have produced barely adequate operating systems.

Thanks to the entire Mint team . Here they are:

Cash works too. Contributions are gladly accepted. We are not pummeled by requests for cash support like say PBS so it is up to the individual to kick in or not. I believe the Mint team is all volunteer. Here is a link to contribute if you are interested. https://linuxmint.com/getinvolved.php Speaki...

Re: How big is the Software Manager

I'm not sure I understand, either. If you are asking about pre-installed software, you can remove most of what you don't need if you want to recover some space. If you are asking about everything else that's listed in the Software Manager, that's not taking up any space until you download and insta...

[SOLVED] How big is the Software Manager

The Software Manager looks huge and 99% of it is useless to me. Could that not be moved off the system similar to how Cinnamon Spices works.

Really, how big is it?

Re: Things I Love About LinuxMint 19

Should I install it alongside my 18.3 Cinnamon?? I really really, don't want to loose all the tweaks that I have just finished polishing up... they are so hard to remember, even when you take notes ( and always leave most of them out ) little things that don't seem like much, but makes life sooo mu...

Re: MBM2 Mint Box Mini

A Celeron CPU with one stick of 4GB RAM gives me very snappy performance running Mint19. So if you are the average user you do not need to spend money for huge ram or an expensive CPU. I have a mini with Celeron and one with I3 and I see no difference in performance (Average user). The Mint Box Mini...

I agree. That is why I asked earlier if there had been an audio recorder installed. Got no reply on that. I think the OP is a working person and will respond to all this tomorrow or Sunday.

Re: How to get rid of the microphone icon at bottom right?

That is the question. What is putting it there :?:

Perhaps if Startup Applications was purged it might remove the culprit.

Here is all I have in Startup Applications.
