Re: Multiple desktops

You might want to look at

Menu > Control Center > CompizConfig Settings Manager > Desktop
or
Menu > Control Center > Appearance

You should be able to switch via Workspace Switcher.
But I just (roll the mouse wheel) to switch workspaces.

Well “If it weren't for bad luck , I'd have no luck at all” So today I checked for updates ( level 1-2-3 ) and something that updated really Borked my system... I have been running Mint7 Gloria since it was released and it has been perfect for my purposes in all respects. But now I guess I will have...

I will try again at home tonight...
I did download from one of the mirrors but I just
wanted to seed for others... Oh well....
Maybe I uploaded too much for my ISP's liking ;-)

Re: Wallpaper contest for Mint 9

Just my 2 cents worth but
I think the DEW wallpaper from Gloria
is by far the best. I don't know who created it but
they did a great job !
It is really nice and very professional looking.

P.S.
I use it as my Win 7 wallpaper ;-)

Re: Booting from mail CD

Just reboot with the CD in the drive and it should boot and run Mint from the cd so you can check it out before installing. If it won't boot from the CD you need to go into the Bios and set it so the boot order has the CD drive first. Mint takes a while to load from CD but once it's running it shoul...

Re: From GNOME to XFCE -- Help & Tips

vrkalak, Thanks for the tip about installing XFCE -w- Gnome "install the Xfce4 Meta Package" I have been running XFCE in a virtualbox and I've really started to like it a lot. It runs awsome fast running directly from the hard drive. I'm almost ready to switch from Gnome (Gloria Main) to XFCE but I'...

Re: Trouble networking with Win XP Pro computer

Husse ,
Yes that's what I meant.
But I use Mint as a trouble shooter with so many different
systems and networks I just never looked into it... :-)
Works for me... ;-)

Re: Trouble networking with Win XP Pro computer

I have to change my firewall setting from DENY to ALLOW
I guess there is a way in the firewall to open the door but I never
looked. I just change it for access and then change it back later... ;-)
