Unable to install updates

After a regular daily update about a month ago, I've been getting this pop up ever since, and am unable to download & install updates. E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. E: _cache->open() failed, please report. Any help much appreciated!

18.3 slow shutting down.

Hello.
My PC is running 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit.

Problem is: it's very slow shutting down. When I click on 'shut down' it stops doing anything within seconds but then the black screen with LM just hangs there for like 2 minutes before actually shutting off.

Any help welcomed. Thanks.

[SOLVED] Unetbootin & Pendrivelinux bot get "An error occurred while loading the archive."

I'm trying to load Lubuntu on an old laptop.

First I'm trying to download either Pendrivelinux or Unetbootin to my PC (running Mint). When I try to open either download, I get this message: 'An error occurred while loading the archive.' So I can't even get past step one! Any ideas?

PC taking a long time to shut down.

Hi.

After working just fine for a couple of years with Mint 18.3, my PC has started taking ages to shut down....like a couple of minutes, though it's not doing anything.

Any suggestions?

It used to shut down in a few seconds.
