Re: BleachBit My Question

All this fear for BB is really exaggerated. I used BB for years (weekly, sometimes daily) in Linux Mint without any problem. BB automatize conveniently the cleaning of the system, so it saves time and space on the HDD/SSD. Really BB is an useful program. I ain't scared worst that can happen is I br...

Re: BleachBit My Question

Well I installed BleachBit and ran only the browser cleaning part and checked all of the boxes. Nothing bad happened and my Linux system didn't break. It did show a lot of tracking cookies according to the preview prior to running the cleaner. I don't at this point see any need in running BleachBit ...

I dunno it's just really really bad, there was this one time, this one guy, called Freddie Starr or someone, well, Bleachbit ate his HAMSTE...

Re: BleachBit My Question

Interesting opinions here. Well actual experience has always proven to be a good resource as far as computer software. I guess I will make an image of my hard drive and install BleachBit and see what happens and then I will know. Not anything of importance on my hard drive that can't easily be repla...

Re: BleachBit My Question

Are these opinions that users have based upon the users actual personal experience using BleachBit. In my case a combination of own test experiences (in a virtual machine, so no risk to loose anything), collection of other user's problems and investigations in the culprit and much reading all over ...

Re: BleachBit My Question

It sounds as though BleachBit is a tool in which users need to understand how to use the features that are available. Are these opinions that users have based upon the users actual personal experience using BleachBit. If not what do you base your opinions on. I have never used this cleaning software...

[Solved] BleachBit My Question

Hey All, I have read the posts about BleachBit and the harm that can come from using it incorrectly but still have to ask my question. If a Linux user only uses BleachBit for cleaning only the browsers being used what harm could happen to the Linux distro being used. I know that I can clean browser ...

Re: Why I'm sticking with Linux Mint

Puppy is cool because it can run from a frugal install or from a usb flash drive and I like the fact that it has a very small footprint and isn't resource hungry. I still have Windows 7 / Windows 10 computers around the house and don't believe in wiping out what is still supported. They are not used...

Re: Why I'm sticking with Linux Mint

I agree that in most cases Linux Mint 17.x is hard to beat and does what most users need. I install and use Ubuntu 14.04 / Linux Mint Mate 17.1 and both right out of the box work great without any problems. I think Ubuntu and Linux Mint are the only choice for everyday use as both just work. I also ...

Re: Hello Linux Mint Forums

Hey All, Thanks for the welcomes and the links as info is always useful. Haven't had any issues with my LM since installing it on my ten year old Windows XP desktop that was sitting around doing nothing. I was impressed from the start as I had no drivers to find and everything just worked. It is tru...

Hello Linux Mint Forums

Hello Linux Mint Forums,

Been using Linux Mint Mate 17.1 for over a year. I was using Windows 7 as a main driver but just didn't care for the way that Microsoft seems to be going with the Windows 10 upgrade. Been reading through the forum and decided to create an account and here I am.
