Re: [Solved] USB Flash Drive
"Hear is the deal," after more time researching the inability to write to a flash drive I have found some more material. "New external partitions. Formatting a new partition with ext4 requires root permissions, which can lead to unexpected or undesired result of the regular user not b...

[Solved] USB Flash Drive
Thank you both Diapason and AndyMH for the important
comments. I am archiving this thread. :<)
Beside not spelling flash correctly, I did find an additional
link that I think may prove to be very useful.

[Solved] USB Flash Drive
Diapason, a most learned post. Yes, within several days I set up Timeshift but never thought about placing it on it's own partition. I thought about a DVD with Clonezilla but that maybe to restrictive, considering the capacity of 4.7 GB. I saw but did not read about DEJA-dup and was going to study i...

[Solved] USB Fash Drive
Diapason, I monkeyed with it before and changed the permission for all others not to be able to write but not for me. I more than likely screwed it up.  There must be a command to set the all of the permissions back to default. https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/249845/reset-permi...

[Solved] USB Fash Drive
Something not quite right there. From what you say everything is in the right place and it should just work as I said. The copy and paste should be just as you are used to (CTRL+C and CTRL+V) or via the right click menu options. Drag and drop is just that. Put your mouse pointer over the file or fo...

When you plug your pen drive into the computer, does it mount? (ie do you see it on your desktop or in the Devices List in File Manager? [Solved] USB Flash Drive - No Permission; Not Owner
After spending nearly two hours trying to find an answer, I now have to thread. All I wish to do in my Mint 20, is to place such items as; documents, pictures and files on a thumb drive [pen drive], as they are called. Nope - - not personally .. I've only ever bought from eBay as an rule. but, there is not that many alternatives, that you can obtain pre-made Linux Media. that CONUSA ? is the Continental United States of America - as opposed to North America, which can include Canada & Mexico . . :) Pierre, we...

Re: How to get Canon TR4550's scanner working with Simplescan.
[quote=brian_p post_id=1878997 time=1599065370 user_id=2463 Scanning on LInux requires a SANE backend (driver); scangearmp2 does not provide any such backend. Therefore, simple-scan hasn't anything to work with and reports No scanners available. Please connect a scanner . See https://wiki.debian.org...

Re: IPv4 Address Changes & No Internet
I messed up the OS by trying to transfer it to another HDD. I had to reinstall Mint and once again the IPv4 changed to [172], however, this time there was no issue with connecting to the Internet. Apparently, the SATA cables going to the HDDs had nothing to do with this. I am now thinking there was ...
