I install Google chrome by downloading the ,deb file from the website only for 64bit systems. Than double click on it and chrome will be installed. If you are using a 32bit OS than you are stuck with Chromium. Use synaptic to install Chromium or software manager.

I was using windows version before which had a font that was not installed on my Mint laptop. What is the MS font package called that I could install this may stop this issue if this is the case?

Libreoffice crashing

Libreoffice Version: 5.1.4.2 Build ID: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1 crashes when I am typing with tables in writer. It just crashes and fails on recovery of the documents I was working on. I wa thinking of purging it and reinstalling or trying a the new release via ppa/ which path should I take?

Try this right click on the wifi icon and network settings if you have a passphase type it in. If this does not work please post back the output of this command...

I checked the mount point which was sdb └─sdb1 ext4 backup 510c86a8-fdd0-4fb9-bd79-a5f528a0ac6b /media/main/backup All seems correct above. When I change the ownership do i use main which is my user account like sudo chown -R $MAIN:$MAIN /media/main/backup Or keep it as sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /me...

I have always used xsane for scanning I do not use simple scan I remove simple scan most of the time. My printer is envy 5530. Xsane uses GIMP plugin give that a try.

If your system is UEFI BIOS than you may get struck. Since you want a 50GB partition you need to create this manually with gparted resizing the partition for mint. This can be complicated read the link below.

I never heard of Firejail I searched the issues now.I I though of pulse audio devices issue but I did not see any pulse audio in the lspci -v output. I hope the solution works.
