Have you tried Sauerbraten? It seems to work very well, even on integrated graphics systems.
There is no controller support for it.

Re: LF game suggestions, network play, local/couch play, controller support, etc

I love Diablo! It's still my favorite. I also have Diablo II, and it's ok, but I still prefer the original. And as for Diablo III... nah. I've watched demos, but it might just as well be any other 3D game. Also, I don't have the hardware for it. Never tried playing it with a controller, though. I'm...

LF game suggestions, network play, local/couch play, controller support, etc

So my son has recently decided he wants to play games over LAN. For my computer, a Home Theater PC, I only have a Logitech K400 keyboard with trackpad and 4 xbox 360 controllers. I'm looking for something I can play with a controller and he can use mouse and keyboard or controller. We've been playin...

Re: Starting any VM locks my system up

4.13.0-32-generic GNU/Linux and VB 5.0.4 Known not to play nice together.... Either remove VB 5.0.40 and manually install 5.1 or 5.2 from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads or install the latest 4.4 series kernel and remove any 4.8, 4.10 and 4.13 kernels having booted into 4.4 and conf...

...logs are under .config/VirtualBox & also in a folder named 'Logs' located there where your VM images are stored (eg. /home/borg101/mywindows10testvm/Logs)... nothing in either location. Which version of VB do you use in Mint? I do a guess: 5.0.x? Next question (just for completeness): Which kern...

Starting any VM locks my system up

I have ran into a problem with a Windows 7 VM that had worked under Ubuntu 17.04/17.10, Mint 18.2, 18.1, elementaryOS 0.4, and others but locked up my system under Mint 18.3 (both cinnamon and gnome DE's). At first I chalked it up to changes in 18.3. So I tried creating a brand new Windows 10 VM.......

Re: Where to turn for support with other distros?

If it's a Ubuntu based distro, they have a section for other distros. BTW Ubuntu has the BEST user support, period, esp. for newbies where nothing else is even close (I'm an ex ubuntu user at the moment btw). But the Other Distros section support isn't as good as the regular section. It's so good t...

Where to turn for support with other distros?

So, in the past year or so since I completely ditched Windows I've played with a ton of different distrobutions. Regardless of popularity, I seem to have trouble getting any help on their respective forums. Is there a subforum here where I may post questions regarding other distrobutions? You folks ...

https://www.thegeekstuff.com/2009/12/4-ways-to-kill-a-process-kill-killall-pkill-xkill/ "Actually, xkill instructs XServer to terminate the client." So xkill is helpless if it's the Xorg system itself that has thrown the wobbly... it may never receive the keypress. Possibly something more sinister ...

xkill not working sometimes....

So I've bound xkill to a custom shortcut. It works 95% of the time. The 5% of the time it doesn't work is when I'm in a game or program that I've attempted to change the resolution and make fullscreen. It also happens in some games in the software manager as well. I won't be able to exit because the...

Very long installation time from downloading language packs

I downloaded a Mint 18.3 x64 (Cinnamon) iso from the main website the other day on my laptop where I had Ubuntu 17.04 installed. I used the default "Startup Disk Creator" to make a USB installation medium. I ran the installation in both UEFI and BIOS and both took a few minutes to get to the actual ...

How can I install OpenRCT2 with the Steam version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2?

Does anyone know how I can install OpenRCT2 and use my copy from Steam? I've tried Lutris, where I'm getting an apparently common error. I tried PlayOnLinux....which only supports the GOG version for some reason. And the "guides", if you could call them that, available are incredibly convoluted. No ...

This is Ubuntu 17.10 with - a normal Gnome session (not an Ubuntu session, see http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/10/install-vanilla-gnome-shell-ubuntu-17-10) - the Dash to Panel extension added (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1160/dash-to-panel/) - and the La Capitaine icon theme (https://kro...

What desktop environment is this....

Would anyone mind viewing the video below and telling me what DE this person is using? It looks like Gnome3 but different than I've seen implemented in Ubuntu 17.10. Would Gnome3 look like this on top of Mint? Thank you in advance.

That's the way your Linux is set up, by default. Re: Transferring file to flash drive not working.

I have found the same problem with a USB2 device. USB3 is much faster. I think the software fills a buffer with data to be transferred which is fairly fast. The actual transfer takes a lot longer, once the buffer is full everything seems to slow down. Thanks for this. While I appreciated Mute Ant's...

My thread.. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=252474 I haven't even tried it tbh. I wanted to do it for my wife's laptop, then s...
