Re: Some programs I need CueTools, Filebot, Plex, makemkv <Solved>

So I finally got around to installing plex through the downloaded .deb file. So a few problems I have with plex now are: 1. Remote access isn't working. (The last time I changed any settings in my router was when I was still using Win. 7) Plex still worked fine at that point. 2. I can't add any medi...

Re: Transmission VS qBitorrent and Firejail

Oh yeah, of course for my browser (firefox) I use firejail, but wasn't really sure how it would react with a torrent client I will give it a try.

Re: Transmission VS qBitorrent and Firejail

Then I'll probably continue using qBittorrent, as I enjoyed its sleek and fast performance in windows 7.

Still not sure whether to use firejail or not though.

Transmission VS qBitorrent and Firejail

Basically, I'm just trying to see which is the better torrent client. Transmission came by default with Linux Mint Cin. 64-bit, however back on windows I used qbittorrent. It looks like qbit is also native on linux. So I just wanted to see what you guys thought was better. Also, should I run torrent...

Re: Some programs I need CueTools, Filebot, Plex, makemkv <Solved>

I read that in KeePassX if you copy a piece of info to the clipboard for copy and pasting, it removes the security element. Is this true?

See where it says drive settings it's grayed out. I'm not sure why though. All my other drives let me access this.

Enabling write cache <Solved>

I'm trying to enable write cache on one of my hdd in an external enclosure, using the Disks utility, however its in grayed out and won't let me select drive settings. I'm not sure why, because on my other external hdd it let me set that up.

Anyone know how to get passed this?

Re: Some programs I need

Thanks, So for KeePassX when you type in or generate a password, does it automatically change it for you on the website. Can you already use active accounts for which you already have passwords and edit them through the software. Also, when you are on the website for which you have the entry does it...

Re: What is gpt partition table? <solved>

A partition table is mandatory for a drive like a car must have axes for getting able to fit wheels. If you use only Linux, you are in principle free to choose between MBR or GPT (in rare cases it will not work with GPT), if you use also Windows, you have to use, what Windows wants (depends from se...

What is gpt partition table? <solved>

I have a Seagate 5tb external HDD that I needed to reformat. So I deleted the current partitions. All of the space was unallocated. Before Partitioning I was advised to select a partition table, which I heard is typical to use msdos. So when I clicked msdos it failed to partition. The default was go...

Re: Some programs I need

Hi "Weeping Cookie", Apparently, "filebot" has another Java dependency, and the command below should fix it. https://www.filebot.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4045 From a console terminal prompt, copy and paste the command below. sudo apt-get install openjfx sudo apt-get install openjfx I just tested ...

Re: Some programs I need

Hi "Weeping Cookie", Open source Java 8 runtime might be installed by Linux Mint as a default. I think it is a good thing. Like I said before, there are a lot of really good and cool Java applications available that run on all operating systems (cross platform) including Linux. Some Java applicatio...

Re: Audio isn't being played on any of my BluRay Rips

I have a hunch the problem could be with pulse audio or pavucontrol?

Edit: I guess it was the pulse audio volume control. Because I uninstalled it and everything seems to work fine with the sound now.

Audio isn't being played on any of my BluRay Rips

So, all of the bluray rips I have won't have their audio played in any of the media players I have. These rips were done through MakeMKV. I mainly use Vlc and SMPlayer w/ mpv. When I tried on VLC it gave me this error message: Audio output failed: The audio device "default" could not be used: Connec...
