Re: photo shop

There is also, Cinepaint. It´s a great program but you won´t find it in the repositories.
If you google around you might find an older version in deb.

Re: wine issues

If you really need to use MS Office instead of OpenOffice, the best way to install it is through CrossOver and not Wine.

In my opinion, the easiest way is to install Windows first and then Linux.

Re: CD burning sucks in Mint7 :(

Since I changed to GNOME I always used Brasero. Right know I with Gloria 64 bits and I can burn CD/DVD with no problem. The only thing is that I can't copy discs. I have to manually copy all data from the CD/DVD to a folder and then burn it. I don't know why but Brasero can't copy discs automaticall...

Re: Skype or?

Bicky,

you can try installing skype-oss-static. That's the one I use. Make sure your mic isn't muted in your volume control.
Also try choosing diferent sound outputs in skype.

Re: Skype or?

In Synaptic you'll find 3 instances of skype: Skype, Skype-oss and Skype-oss-static.

Try using skype-oss or skype-oss-static. It works better.

Re: WinFF not working

I think is a problem of conflict with other program and plugins you have installed. Try choosing other format to convert to like AVI or VCD.

Personally, I prefer Avidemux to convert and edit videos. Maybe you could try it.

Re: GNS 3 Compatibility issue with Mint 7

It looks like GNS 3 have a problem running in Jaunty and the same happens in Gloria.

Try running GNS 3 in root mode by opening it using the terminal with sudo.

Installing VLC Player 1.0.0

VLC 1.0.0 has just been released and I upgraded it from Synaptic by adding the repository. I had some trouble during the process so I decided to create this topic to help those who might have the same problem as me. I added these repositories to Synaptic and the the key. deb http://ppa.launchpad.net...
