Re: Wireless not working Dell Inspiron 1525 in Gloria

Is the "Enable Wireless" option checked?
I lost my wireless once and all I had to do was use the LiveCD. In the LiveCD it was working fine so I reboot the system and I had my wireless back. Maybe you could try this.

Re: webcam in skype?

I have a Logicool Qcam Pro and works great OOB with Cheese and Skype-oss (not Skype main instance).

Depending on the resolution that is set in the Cheese configuration it might not work. In this case just change the resolution.

You can remove the customized Google search engine by clicking the arrow at the top right corner of Firefox and clicking Manage Serach Engine. There you`ll find a option to remove it. To use the traditional Google search engine, install the addon "Add to Search Bar". After installing it, open the go...

Re: mic problems

To use your mic and webcam with Skype, open Synaptic and install Skype-oss or Skype-oss-static instead of Skype. The oss versions works better in Mint. I`am using Gloria x64 with Skype-oss and webcan and mic are working great. Before I was using 32bit version of Gloria and Skype-oss was working fine...

You can download some eeeDistros here http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/simosnet-livecd/EeePC/

I don't think they are oficial releases, but you can give them a try.

Lagagnon, you can install the xfce meta-package to load XFCE in Gnome or KDE but as far as I know it's not available yet for Gloria. We have to wait the XFCE version to be released.

Re: Gnome Panel Applets Refuse to Lock

Pewterbot9,

what do you mean with "they move around of their own free will anyway"?
You can move them even when you lock them into your panel or they are in different position every time you boot your system?

Re: Help with setup.

It depends on what you do. Everybody has their preferred applications.

In my case:
- For listening to audio files, Amarok 1.4
- Watch movies and DVDs I go with VLC player
- For graphic jobs I use Gimp, Inkscape and Krita
- Web browser for me is Opera
