i for one think the pass word requirements for this sight are really good as it makes the pass word very difficult to crack

i find the mint 18.2 looks good and feels comfortable, however on the other hand the windows 8 was horrible and it looked terrible ....... i for one would never want mint to venture any where near the windows experience (no offense intended) just my opinion

i agree we have a right to privacy and what ever op sys you use and what email program you use etc is privacy concern, if privacy is not a concern to you, maybe you may be happy going back to windows (no offense meant) i came to linux mint because of privacy concerns and freedom

hi tiphany17 and welcome to sanity. i used to fiddle with linux redhat back in the days of windows 98 but sadly i should have jumped over to linux then, it took windows 10 to give me the push once my windows 7 machine died

i use vlc and media player and both work fine so please don't change it in mint 18.2

i came from windows to linux and its been frustrating at times, however this forum is very helpful and the issues mentioned mean nothing.
the forum is to help users and making it pretty won't help linux users more or increase their understanding of linux, so it doesn't need makeup.........

well i have used VLC for years both on windows, when i used to use windows, and for a few years on linux mint and have not had any real issues. i have watched many action movies with no problem

i agree the suggestion should not be utorrent , however i have used qtorrent and found it to not be satifactory, i use frostwire, it seem more friendly

the problem was me, lol
some of the updates were clashing with my printer hp envy 5530
my computer is a hp intel celeron cpu n3060 1.60gig dual core

i use timeshift to backup all changes on my system and so i reverted my system to an earlier back up

i have worked on the low level battery alarm with audio and have come up with a work about,it's not exactly what i wanted however it serves the purpose that i wanted. What i have done is this. i just found a problem with the script :(
it seems once the script activates, the sound file starts and i can't shut it off,
even when the power level gets above the preset %
So i guess its back to the drawing board.
not happy..... :x
so i guess i will keep on looking for a script
