I followed it down to the letter and it failed at the same point, right at the end with the boot loader failing to install:

GRUB installation failed

The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed package failed to install into /target/

Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

I successfully burned a disk, it seems that 3 downloads were bad.

I restored the software installer but still can't burn the DVD, I will try downloading another and see. I'll get back to you all.

I got it, update manager, that fixed it, either I put in the ppas wrong or there is some other problem
