Re: Keyboard shortcut - Scribus appimage..

Thank you to BenTrabetere and catweazel . Entered the full path, as suggested, and now have control of Scribus with a keyboard shortcut.

As an aside, my mistake was to use a lower case 'i' for AppImage and, quite correctly Linux ignored it.

Re: Cinnamon vs Mate

I was just curious if the OS in Mate is trimmer than Cinnamon is. When I loaded it into VM and saw that it totally lacked any of the features from Cinnamon, ie, a stock set of Office like stuff, helpful apps for images, etc.... I had to assume that it was just the very basics required to make Mint ...

+1 for Mate.

I've tried them all and, to me, Mate is the most intuitive DE available.

Re: Linux changes my computer clock

I notice the OP writes When in Linux the clock in the bottom right corner has the correct time but when I then reboot the computer and restart Windows ( coming out from hibernation mode ) the clock in Windows has to be changed back because it shows London, GMT, time. When I change it it changes back...

Re: Forum has been upgraded (report issues here)

I'm getting two icons partially blocking the "Search this topic" bar. (Flat icons . . . I hate flat icons.) The icons are inherited from phpBB's prosilver. Sorry but we're keeping them. The search bar is indeed looking strange. Here is how it looks for me: https://i.imgur.com/JljvEAc.png and here i...

Re: How to launch the `Disks` utility from Terminal

P.S. To see it (for any command) right-click the menu button, select Configure -> Menu -> Open the menu editor, select needed menu point, press "Properties" button, see at "Command" field. Using LMv18.3 Mate and that doesn't work for me. Clicking with right mouse button pressed give me: Preferencec...

Have a look at pjotr's

https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/17

Follow the instructions for installing Brother printers. I did and it was completely successful.

And then go to the Home page and find a host of other good tips. It is well worth the visit.

Good to see the comments regarding feeding dogs. More than 25 years ago I decided to feed my dogs raw food only. So, the diet would include chicken carcass, chicken necks, pigs head, tripe, beef, lamb, horse, bones (beef, lamb). I weigh the food so that they get fed about 1.5% of their ideal bodywei...

Bitcoin - cash up...

A quick question for the knowledgeable folk here.

Hypothetically. Say somebody has 100 Bitcoin. When bought the Bitcoins were valued at $US2.00 each. Currently at $US22,887.00 each. They want to cash them in and retire on the proceeds How do they do this? Is it possible?
