Totally lost bluetooth Mint 19.1

Thanks in advance! I installed Mint 19.1 and could not connect to bluetooth. Searched around and one of the solutions was unistall then reinstall Blueberry and Bluez tools. Uninstalled both, went to reinstall and neither will install. Blueberry needs bluez tools and it is no longer available, but is...

GRUB Intstallation Error Message<SOLVED>

Howdy, I was installing Mint 19 on a machine I already have 18.3 and Windows installed on. I was using the same live usb I used to install 19 on a laptop in January and I got the following message: "The 'grub-eif-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. With the GRUB boot loader, ...

GREAT INFO!!

Thank you. My final solution was to install Mint 19 beside 18.3, but I am pretty sure 18.3 is clean and fine.

Re: Mint 19 from a Live USB dual boot w 18.3

Thanks! Working like a charm.

Not sure how to move all my apps and settings from one to the other, but dual boot is working great.

19 seems to be more stable on my machine, and faster. PLUS it actually has my printer drvier!!

Re: 51 "suspect" files....now what?? [rkhunter]

After doing some more poking around, some more reading, and scans w chkrootkit and lynsis, it appears the hidden /.java file is created by Sun and ok and the script command is a false positive. I am going to mark this solved.....unless anyone objects and my system is fubar! LOL Thanks for all the po...

Mint 19 from a Live USB dual boot w 18.3

Hi guys! Just wanting to confirm before I dive in. I have read the 19 install instructions. My question is if I install Min 19 on my machine that has 18.3 on it, can I install it as a dual boot OS? Since 18.3 is working it would be nice to leave it on the machine just in case( I have totally fubared...

Re: 51 "suspect" files....now what?? [rkhunter]

Yes, ran it on 18.2, forgot it was on the machine, ran it today (18.3). So how do I tell rkhunter to update file signatures. It sounds as if that would be step 1, then re run rkhunter and see if I still get the same warnings. Reading section 3.1 thru 3.8 was not much help. There was a like to CERT t...

51 "suspect" files....now what?? [rkhunter] <SOLVED>

Howdy! My system has been doing some stuff that is out of the norm. I know viruses are generally not an issue with Linux. I ran RKHunter and got all sorts of warnings. The log is below. Unfortunately, I am not anywhere near savvy enough to understand if I have anything to be concerned with or if the...

Re: Flashing Logo on boot, won't load

Thanks Sleeper!

That seems to have done the trick. Booted right up like it was supposed to this morning.

Any idea what happened to cause the problem? Still learning my way around Linux after 2 years of no MS =)

Flashing Logo on boot, won't load<SOLVED>

I am still pretty new, but thought this is the right place to post. The problem: when I boot, my machine never loads. It gets to the Mint logo then starts flashing. That's it. What I have done: This all started after I loaded flightgear out of the software installer. I added the required pkgs. Fligh...
